This motel had the usual Holiday Inn Express amenities -- fairly upscale feel, well-appointed rooms, very comfortable bedding, good breakfast area. The wireless internet was great - fast and stable. The check-in lady and the lady in charge of the breakfast area were both very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is right near the freeway exit, in a small-town setting. There is fast-food very nearby and a Pizza Hut a short distance away. And a short distance into town and you'll find everything else.
I was a little disappointed in a couple of things. The bathroom was not well cleaned and the shampoo/soap from the previous guest was still there. The heater unit was not well calibrated - I set it all the way down to 60 degrees and the room was still too hot. In order to sleep, I had to turn it off entirely, and by morning the room was very cold.
Overall, this motel was a good value, especially for a passing-through traveler on I-74 -- better price and easier access from the freeway compared to Peoria or Quad Cities.
