“Never again.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013 via mobile

I can't even comment on the food because the hostess was too rude to merit staying. This is my first time playing with the local symphony, so excuse me for not knowing that it was high school prom night or that Saturday night in Galesburg (a modest city at best) required reservations. I was treated like an irresponsible high school student. Embarrassing.

“Chez Willy--no home cooking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Chez Willy, which translated means "at Willy's place," or "at home of Willly's" is hardly home cooking. Instead, it usually delivers excellent, sophisticated cuisine. I have eaten there many times, and only once was the meal sub-par. Then we complained and the manager halved the bill. The atmosphere is soft and romantic and hardly ever crowded. This may be because Chez Willy's is expensive, quite. Nonetheless, if you want to impress--Chez Willy is the place to go.

“A lovely place for lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

We had an excellent lunch--sandwhich special of the day. Service was great. Can't wait to go back again.

“Yummy and Sophistcated”

Great food and good wines. Dessert was a really fun table side presentation. Bartender was very good as the old cocktails.

“Everything was a hit.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

There were three of us, and aside from appetizers, there was no overlap in our orders. My sister had the Pecan Chicken, and said it was wonderful. My spouse had the Pad Thai, and loved it. I had the Baked French Onion Soup, followed by a small Filet with Madeira Sauce, and was entirely satisfied.

For appetizers, we had crab cakes and fried calimari, and enjoyed both of them. The crab cakes were not overwhelmed with spices, but instead were prepared so as to allow the delicate flavor of crab to come through. The fried calamari were tasty and tender, and had none of the greasiness often found in this dish.

We had contact with two servers, one of whom was truly outstanding, and the owner, who is delightful. All in all, it was a very enjoyable meal.
