We stayed at the Stoney Creek Inn in Galena, IL, for 3 nights last weekend (3/15/13 through 3/17/13). We booked a standard room with a king bed. The room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The hotel is well-decorated in an outdoorsy style. There is a nice pool and hot tub. The breakfast is great, better than we had expected, with juice, yogurt, waffles, muffins, cereal, and hot items like sausage and eggs. Regular and decaf coffee are available all the time. Staff was very friendly. We will stay there again.

We stayed at the Stoney Creek Inn in Galena, IL last weekend 3/15/13 and it was wonderful! We stayed in a whirlpool/fireplace suite that was everything we expected. The room was tastefully decorated and immaculate..hotel was comfortable, cozy, and quiet. Staff was all very helpful and friendly. The morning breakfast offered a nice variety of items. We came to Galena for a romantic weekend getaway and that exactly what we experienced at the Stomey Creek Inn! We will definitely be returning in the future!

If you are looking for a nice hotel at a good price try the Stoney Creek Inn in Galena, IL. We stayed there the night of 3/16/13 and were pleasantly surprised. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to go back! I would have like to have seen a bit more variety in the hot part of the breakfast. The morning we were there they served small biscuits and gravy. Scrambled eggs would have been a nice addition. Overall this is a great hotel at a great price.

Stayed at the Stoney Creek Inn in Galena this past weekend (3/10/13), and even though the lodge, rooms, and pool area was nice, the service was horrible. Visited the bar with my folks Saturday evening for a cocktail, and the bar tender talks my mother into a small night cap,...Ok no big deal, until she charges $12.00 for a drink the size of a shot glass. Really, for a drink she was interested in to begin with??
We called down to the front desk Sunday morning to get a name of a cafe in the local area to have breakfast. We described the area being very particular of the surroundings, and she couldn't help us, nor was she interested in finding us help.
Our family gathering had 5 rooms with no special rate. When we asked if we could get 1 room upgraded for our folks, as a place to congregate, we were turned down.
We will look for a different place to stay the next time we travel the Galena area.
