We continue to go back each Oct to Felt Manor. It is such a warm inviting place to be. It's quiet and comfortable. If your looking for an old historic feel this is for you. The decor is very much from the Victorian period. They have an afternoon tea on Sat which is out of this world! The food is delicious! I can't say enough about Felt other than to go for a weekend and be prepared to enjoy yourselves! We have stayed at other B and B's but nothing compares to here.

Our first B&B experience, and what an experience it was! Fantastic! Unbelievable food, 5 star presentation! Great town, house is full of character and charm, and the owner (Laura) made my wife and I feel like family.

Though we have stayed at other B&Bs, the first time we walked into the Felt Manor we knew this was the best. This is about the eighth or ninth time that we have stayed at Felt Manor. The authenticity of this1800s mansion lends to a real atmosphere of it being warm, inviting and cozy. All of the rooms are wonderful though the Lucius Felt room tends to be our favorite. Laura and Sandy are gracious people who really go above and beyond to make sure the guests are enjoying their stay. The breakfasts and afternoon teas that are served are delicious and carefully planned as they are made from the heart. One is made to feel not just as a guest but as a friend. We are already looking forward to our stay next year.

Our stay at the Felt Manor was nothing short of fabulous! The high tea was PHENOMENAL! You could almost make a full meal out of what was served. The breakfasts were devine! (Sandy's coffee cake was to DIE for) The house was peaceful and tastefully decorated with antiques but was not stuffy and overly formal. You were made to feel at home immediately. I had to fight with myself to keep from going back to the kitchen to help Laura with the dishes =)

If you are going to walk to town, bring comfortable shoes and be prepared for alot of hills, but, to be frank, if you don't like hills, don't go to Galena. EVERYTHING is on a hill.

Just as a side note... the grounds do have some issues as noted before. Laura is on a waiting list with a contractor to have the items repaired, but it DOES NOT, and I cannot stress this enough, reflect on the peace and traquility you will find on your stay. Laura is outgoing, open and friendly and it shows in the comfort you feel in her home. By the time you leave, you feel like you are leaving a friend's home instead of a guest house. Highly highly recommended
