THERE ARE SOME EXPERIENCES WHICH STAY WITH YOU A LIFETIME---staying at the Stillman Inn is one of them. We stayed in the "dreams of the Past" room which had been the 'lady of the house's' room in a bygone era. My husband and I felt as if we had stepped back in time (although with all of the wonderful, elegant conveniences of today) and were treated like royalty by our gracious hosts, Dave and Bernadine.
They anticipated our every need and went way beyond our expectations which is a rather difficult thing to do since we are in our 50s and have stayed at many bed and breakfasts over the years!
The room was spotless, beautiful and even equipped with free soda and bottled water in a mini-frig!! Downstairs was a freezer with ice cream snacks nearby were microwave popcorn and amazing chocolate chip cookies --all available 24/7 and free for the taking!! Breakfast was fantastic and Dave and Bernadine were warm and helpful in every way. I don't know how they could have been more gracious hosts!
A very nice surprise was the closeness of everything--right across the street is Grant's house and down the street a short distance (easy walk) is the pedestrian bridge to the downtown area. Perfect for walking to dinner, shopping, trolley tour, etc.
After dinner we returned to a magical fairyland of beautifully lit gardens surrounding the house with the fountain gurgling and it just could not have been more romantic!
This place would be perfect for honeymoons, anniversaries or just fun get aways like ours!! We also felt that we had as much privacy as we wished since Dave and Bernadine live in a somewhat separate area of the house so we never felt concerned about disturbing them or running into them unless we were in need of something (which would be hard to have happen since they thought of everything!!!!)
Just a GREAT place to stay!! Loved it!
