We visited Galena for a girls weekend away with my mom and sister. The view and the food at the lodge's two restaurants was amazing. The staff was friendly and eager to please. I was not impressed with the accommodation at the lodge. Our room had a wet dog smell to it, the towels were thread bare and scratchy, and the t.v. was tiny. They did have basic cable which came in well. The pool area did not have any air conditioning and smelled heavily of chlorine. Our room did come with two queen beds, a sleeper couch, and mini fridge. We slept well on the beds but the mattresses need replacing as once you are in bed you need assistance getting out of it!
We took advantage of the beautiful scenery and trails around the resort. We tried the alpine slide and ski lift chairs. We also took a river cruise which we were able to arrange at the lodge. We enjoyed our visit to Galena but will be looking for another place to stay next time.
