Just got back from a 2 night stay for a family reunion-our party had a total of 9 rooms reserved. Most of us had either 2 double beds or a king with a sofa sleeper. These are your typical hotel rooms except I thought even smaller than normal. Clean but worn and a bit tired looking. One room did have ants which housekeeping promptly took care of. My brother and his wife reserved a suite: king bed, sofa sleeper and LARGE sitting area-this was a very nice room and only $25 more than the regualar king room. They also had a mini fridge. All the rooms had a balcony with 2 chairs which was nice. However, I went to check ours out and the screen door was off track and leaning up against the side of the building. When we were in the lobby I mentioned it to the front desk because I did not want to get blamed for it. Well, about 15 minutes later a maintenance man was at our door with a new screen-I was impressed with that.
Housekeeping was poor. Our room was cleaned promptly but were not given more coffee condiments or toilet paper and only given 2 towels (no washclothes or hand towels) with a note that they'd be back with more. They never did come back. We snagged what we needed off a housekeeping cart left in the hallway. Also, no pool towels the first day (Friday) although there were some on Saturday.
Members of our party who ate in the restaurant found it slow, dirty cups and silverware and not very good food. Drove into Shelbyville to eat after that.
Outdoor pool is awesome with plenty of seating. Indoor pool nice also. Indoor jacuzzi small but fine-outdoor jacuzzi colder than the pool!
Beautiful view of the lake, nice trails, gazebos and marina.
Front desk service was okay-quick check in and check out but everyone working the desk seemed to be an airhead.
All in all, our stay was fine. Nothing bad but nothing exceptional-this could be a fabulous resort if they'd step it up a notch. Paid $119/night over a weekend-not terrible but anything over $80/night you're paying more than it's worth.
