Having stayed at Corton just a few months ago at the beginning of November I wasn’t going to bother with another review just yet. However, with so much improvement work taken place I thought it was worthy of another update.
This was our sixth visit to Corton and if you read my last review I mention some of the improvements back then. But in last few months there have been some very big changes. For a start the whole of the area in front of the cabaret/diner has been completely landscaped with a new crazy golf course, two short mat bowls lanes, new giant chess game, a giant Jenga game. The air rifle range and archery course wasn’t quite finished but should be soon (I guess the inclement weather has been holding things up). The area has been finished off with new lawns and garden furniture.
Another big change is that the coffee shop/snack bar that was next to the bar in the lounge has now been moved to the garden lounge area where the holiday shop used to be.
There are a few other cosmetic changes here and there but the biggest change must be the new cliff top lodges that have been built along the front overlooking the sea. I think these are the most expensive of the accommodation at Corton. A couple sitting on the next table to us had one of these lodges and spoke very highly of them.
A few more car park spaces have been created by way of a small new car park but despite this, trying to find somewhere to park if you have been out for the day can still be a nightmare.
As for our accommodation, once again we stayed in a Beach Garden chalet – this time BG56. I have pretty much covered these chalets in previous reviews.
This Easter break was also a drinks inclusive weekend which included numerous beers, wines and spirits plus soft drinks. The drinks are only free after 6pm but believe me, it makes a massive saving on your pocket compared to when you have to pay for them.
The food as ever was excellent, with a great choice for breakfast and then an extensive menu for your evening meal including a carvery every night , a salad bar or you could choose from the main menu. Saturday nights was also curry night with a choice of dishes. Sunday was also pie night. It beats me how anyone can complain about the food here I’ll never know.
Saturday was also my birthday and my wife arranged for our dining table to be decorated with balloons, poppers and other birthday decorations. This was finished off with a cake and candles and a rousing chorus of “Happy Birthday”. Our room was also complimented with wine and chocolates.
The entertainment theme of this break was a soul weekend with soul group the Gillettes being the cabaret on Saturday evening singing a variety of hits from the 70’s. On Sunday the entertainments team put on their own show called Blues Brothers and Soul Sisters which was very good. The entertainments girls and guys really do work hard and all are very friendly. Resident band White Magic were as good as ever.
Once again we found all the staff at Corton to be a friendly and helpful bunch.
It’s great to see Warner investing so much in this site, in the years we have been coming here we have really seen the difference.
As I have said before in previous reviews, Corton may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it still retains a holiday camp atmosphere with its chalet blocks but for the money you can’t go far wrong.
Of the six times we have been here I would have to say this was our best weekend yet and we will certainly return again sometime later this year.
Now, if only they could sort that parking situation out……..
Book a chalet that faces the sea.

‘White Magic’ our resident band receives glowing feedback from nearly all our guests so I am pleased you enjoyed their performances.
Warner Leisure Hotels is constantly developing and investing into our properties and I am proud to say they have spent over £2 million on Corton Coastal Village which includes brand new leisure activities and Clifftop Lodges.
Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
