“Rabidly good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

Stumbled on this with out student daughter. Great bar food, very fresh, fun staff and crowd. Perfect place for before or after a game and, if you are a beer drinker, those gerbil tubes full of suds must be special.

“Sweet potato fries keep us coming back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

Although Bat 17 is known for their sandwiches and great big portions, the sweet potato fries are the siren song that brings me back over and over. The pulled pork sandwich is sloppy and amazing and they also have it in sliders so you can portion them out to yourself as needed, but make sure you have some sweet potato fries on the side. Their big deli sandwiches are also top notch. They have a nice beer selection and lots of sports to watch with a cozy feel.

“Best Burger in Evanston, by far!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

Yes, best, by far. Was totally disappointed by the famous Edzo's on Saturday, so came here on Thursday night looking to rebound.

Made the right decision. The Bat 17 burger is the best burger in Evanston, by far. No one else can match the quality and the preparation. High quality and tasty meat. Great other ingredients including quality swiss cheese and a fresh egg on top. Kind of over the whole brioche bun thing, as its use often seems to be more flash than substance, but here the bun was a welcome tool to pick up juices and flavors.

My partner had a pastrami sandwich, with the pastrami being fresh and tasty. Service was great (Thanks, Bob).

All in all, a great experience. Definitely the burger place I'll hit while living in Evanston.

“Great Beer and Sandwiches”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

It's crowded but that may be alleviated by expansion into a next door space.
Outstanding sandwiches, and you must try the gorgonzola infused cole slaw.
A little surprised they carded my son - can't a guy buy his college age kid a beer?

“big sandwiches, great beer selection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

2 kids through Northwestern- so we've eaten here many times; always very large sndwiches, good coleslaw, sweet potatoe fries-- and very extensive and very good beer seletion- worth going just to see/taste the beers. always leave with leftover sandwich, which the college kids love for a late night snack. you won't be disapointed. while the price is a bit high, think it is worth it. and a great bloody mary bar!
