“Good cajun style”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

A nice casual local restaurant with good food. The portions are generous. I love the pulled pork sandwich - usually have to take 1/2 home.

“Great food, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

We have been going to this location for many years and this weekend we went again. The food here is just great. They stick to the basic cajun formula, black pepper & keep the food crispy. This time we had the Jerk chicken & Fried Catfish coupled with Jambalaya & Fried green tomatoes. THey give you Johnny Cakes with sweet butter to start it off. I feel like I have gone bcak in time to when food was simple, good & flavorful. I recommend Dixie Kitchen to anyone who desires real food and a great atmosphere.

Great value for good food. Atmosphere is fun, service has always been great. Breakfast is really affordable during the week- less than $5

“Too far above the Mason Dixon line, but closer than you might think”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

Everything about this place appealed to me: menu, location, decor, waitstaff, ambience. And everything would probably please someone who's never been to Dixie or a bait shop. Earnest attempts at gumbo, jumbalya, red beans and rice, and po boys, but no fireworks or sparkling high notes. More ho hum than yum yum, but certainly worth a visit a lunch or a quick dinner. Don't be put off by my so-so reactions. I'm on a lifelong quest for the perfect gumbo and oyster po boy, so my standards are way high. Give Dixie Kitchen & Bait Shop a try, but ask for some hot sauce on the side.
