“Great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

The hamburgers were cooked to perfection - including the well done one. The french fries were wonderful.

“Guilty pleasure burgers, fries and shakes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

Though the hours are sometimes prohibitive (really only lunches or early dinners) the food is worth the effort, but it's certainly not health food by any means. The locally sourced meat, amazing truffle fries and fantastically thick shakes make this a "sometimes" visit.

“Classic burger and a malt - and the fries looked amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

This place was great! Just a simple place with great food. I had a smashed burger cheeseburger and a chocolate malt. Both were excellent. The malt came with whipped cream and a cherry. And I actually placed my order with Edzo! I wanted the fries but had early dinner reservations that night so didn't want to eat too much. But other peoples' looked great! Absolutely delicious! A must try!

“Great Burgers and Dogs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

Edzo mans the cash register like Captain Kirk on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise. They turn out a good lunch with lots of choices. Funky place. Highly enjoyable.

“Decent, but not outstanding....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

Had heard all of the hype and had to try Edzo's after moving to Evanston. It's a good burger, even a decent value (4 oz. burger is around $4.50, an 8 oz. burger is $6.50), but nothing memorable and outstanding. The 8 oz. "Char Burger" was cooked to order, but mine was dry and meally without much taste, even when cooked (as ordered) medium rare.

Regular fries were fresh and good on their own, but were ruined by tasteless chili glop and tasteless cheese glop in a pasty attempt at chili cheese fries. Does anyone in Chicago make chili cheese fries with real chili and real cheese? Certainly, the real thing's never been seen at Edzo's.

Bright spot was the shake. We had a maple "$5.00 shake," (It's $4) which was handmade and excellent.

Glad I tried it, but not worth the 20 minute wait in line combined with the 30 minute wait AFTER I ordered.
