We were looking to stay in Chicago for two nights, however that weekend hotel prices were crazy and a friend of ours recommended Janet's Place in Evanston. Since we were renting a car, we thought that fifteen minute drive into Chicago will not be a problem and parking will be much easier and free (in our previous stay at the Ritz we were paying $30 daily). Janet's is located on a quiet residential street with easy access to all unversities inincluding the Northwestern. When we arrived we were greeted by the hostess Bonnie and her adorable dog Annie. Bonnie showed us around the house and gave us a lot of useful information on where to go and what to do, including a scenic walk along the lake which is a walking distance from Janet's. Our room was very clean, it had everything you needed, including books, TV and DVD player. Bed linen was freshly pressed. Bonnie asked us about our breakfast prefrences and the following morning served us with a delicious homemade breakfast. There is a free wi-fi with a detailed incstuction on how to join the wireless network. We chatted with Bonnie over breakfast for a little bit and she told us about interesting people who stayed before. Throughout our stay everything was so comfortable and cosy that we felt like we were staying at home or visiting a family. I've heard about charming B&B's like this one but never actually stayed in one, well not any more.
