“Very Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2012

The main problem in this hotel is that the bathrooms smell, especially after one flushes the toilet. The public spaces in this hotel is not clean as it has many open areas and needs diligence to keep clean everyday. However, the Deluxe rooms are clean, as are the bathrooms. The staff are friendly and the food very average.

Room Tip: Chalets looked livable

The hotel is 20 km before Nuwara Eliya...while driving from Kandy.. the best part it is switched next to a waterfall... the view is very scenic. You can walk down to the waterfall from the hotel..

We stayed for a day during our trip, overall good and nice place to relax... rooms r good and staff is very friendly.

Happened to stay for 2 nights in Ramboda Falls Hotel in Deluxe room.
The waterfalls view is very good. Food is average. The plus points end there.
The rooms are stinky. After flushing the toilet very bad smell was coming out. We have complained 2-3 times. They have done some cleaning but still the smell was there as it is the infrastructure issue. Toilet is very small and not clean. Toilet towels & bedroom linens were not clean (it seems they have not changed the towels since hotel has started)
Overall we did not stay in the room and mostly we sat in the restaurant.
I wont recommend to take this hotel. If you want enjoy the waterfalls, better have a lunch, enjoy the view and move on.
This is the worst hotel we have stayed in our entire trip in Sri Lanka

The hotel is beautifully located just in front of one of the Ramboda waterfalls, with an amazing view on the valley.
The rooms are clean and spacious, but the hotel looks quite old and would need some renovation.
Since it's very close to the waterfall, it's really humid, in the rooms there are humidity spots on the walls, the carpet floors and the bed sheets feel a little humid too.
Breakfast is average, quite simple continental breakfast.
Overall a pleasant place to stay thanks to the beautiful location.

This hotel is just a stone throw away from the Ramboda Falls.

The Ramboda Falls is just on our left hand side when we are at the balcony and just directly opposite our balcony, there is another waterfall.

WiFi was surprisingly strong in our room though there was none in the dining area.

Toiletries was provided in the bathroom. There was also a fridge and tv.

Dinner and breakfast was good, though the choices were limited. Do try the buns as they were especially tasty.

We decided to stay here on a bit of impulse just to try somewhere different and we were so glad we did! This was one of the highlights of our trip. The hotel is away from any major towns so would be a bit tricky to get to without a car, although if you know where you're going you coudl ask a bus to stop. We just happened to book the Green Heaven room because they didn't have standard rooms left and it was amazing. We had an amazing view of the waterfall from our room, plus a balcony that looked over the falls as well. It was beautiful. I would definitely recommend paying a bit extra to get this room.
We also pre-paid for dinner and breakfast and both were very good. There is only a limited selection of meals for dinner but they were varied and both the meals we had were very good quality. We also had a drink in the very cool bar before dinner, which was great. The staff were all very friendly and helpful as well. I would really recommend this hotel if you want something a bit quieter with amazing natural views.

Room Tip: The Green Heaven room has the best views of the waterfall.

Well, we heard and got the booking of this hotel through a travel agent in Negombo. There were lot of hype about this hotel and its location. The location is good near the waterfall and room was also well organized and clean. However, the waterfall is a smaller one compared to the ones I have seen other places. Its a good plase if one wants to spend a quite time in the hotel and balcony and near waterfall. However, there is no place for additional acitivities in nearby places.one has to take a car anywhere you want to go from there, fortunately we had a car using which we went to a tea estate /factory situated about 8-10 km away from the hotel. So, if you are with family specifically with kids then it might get boring after sometime. Breakfast is very basic and doesn't have much options. The overall infrastructure is decent one situated very close to nature.
