We requested a non-smoking room on the back side of the motel, away from traffic noise. There were signs in the room stating that it had been cleaned and prepared especially for non-smoking guests. However, judging from the smell it was clear that this room had been a smoking room for a long time, and only recently had been designated non-smoking. The odor made our stay quite unpleasant. The motel was full or we would have requested a change to a different room.
Breakfast was barely ok: mostly stale donuts, dry cereal, and watery coffee. The friendly "waffle man" who had presided over the breakfast room on previous visits was nowhere to be found. We concluded that when the motel changed from a Days Inn to a Rodeway Inn, it also changed management --- for the worse.
We won't stay here again. Some "bargains" are not worth the tradeoffs required.
