“Amazing in so many ways”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

Me and 20 gay guys from OutdoorLads were at the nearby hostel for the weekend and came here a few times. We had an amazing time. The location, beer/whisky, food and atmosphere were amazing. Lizzie and Ollie (with a bit of help from an AMAZING location) have created something very special - they have an easy, welcoming style that fits perfectly with the guests and location.

Come here to walk, eat, drink or just sit by the fire and watch the clouds role over the mountains.

When our train back to London pulled away from the station to take us home I felt really sad...but I will be back for sure.

Wonderful place!

“Excellent cuisine, great people”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2013

We spent an afternoon and the next morning at the Corrour Station House Restaurant during our five day trek through the highlands. So we were lucky enough to enjoy a fabulous Corrour Burger made probably of the best meat I have tasted in a very long time. This meal in combination with the very lovely atmosphere of the place made our stay there one of the highlights of our Scotland trip.

The young couple that runs the place understood to incorporate modern and tasteful style accents while preserving the original "rustic" character of the house. That goes for the interior decoration as well as for the cuisine (and the drinks - exquisite selection of scotch whiskys!).

The delicious scottish breakfast the next morning was far richer and fresher (again: the meat!) than anything we have tasted before and after in Scotland - and made our leave so much harder.

Bottom line: Definitely worth the train ride from Fort William if you want to enjoy yourself with an exceptional dining experience!

“This is a very special place - a real treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

Amazing place to stay -the monarch room was just lovely and the food fantastic . Ollie and Lizzie have created a very special restaurant with rooms -welcoming , unpretentious in a stunning location . You need to go and experience it -there is nothing quite like it and they deserve to make a success of this great venture

“Corrour offers quality in a relaxed environment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

The no 1 restaurant in Corrour is not that big an achievement, but the no 1 out of 597 restaurants in Scottish Highlands on TripAdvisor drops a big hint that something special is happening at Corrour Station (Corrour rhymes with hour, by the way).

We did not hear about this on Tripadvisor. I have been on the case ever since it opened last year, and this visit was a reconnaissance for a planned "Final Munro" party set for 2015.

Lizzie and Ollie (still only in their early 20's), have created that very rare combination of quality and a relaxed environment. This is not one of those places that "tries to hard" or whose management are "up themselves".

They have created an offer which is entirely in keeping with its remote highland setting. Food very good. At breakfast (superb full Scottish breakfast venison sausage the lot) Ollie gave me poached and scrambled as he saw I was swithering. For dinner I asked about mountain hare, so he organised it as a special starter that night, setting me up nicely for the 12 hour venison stew that followed.

All you can hear is birdsong (snipe, dunlin and sandpiper breed in the lochan in front of the restaurant), and the very occasional train passing through. Skylarks high in the sky - Belinda says they sound like someone is trying to tune in a radio. And not a midge, even early June - weather was too good for them!

Many thanks to Lizzie / Ollie and your two staff, plus of course Archie the 11 month old Pointer. See you in 2015, and before.

“Amazing food, lovely people”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

This is the third time we've dined here - this time staying over in the lovely new rooms with views to die for. As ever the food is all about clever use of first-rate local produce (venison scotch eggs a stroke of genius) served with flair and attention to detail. Our hosts, Lizzie and Ollie, really couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Highly recommended, couldn't fault anything.
