Visit here with friends regularly for their Thursday steak night. Which I can say is very good value for money at £25 for two meals and a bottle of very nice wine. The steaks are cooked to perfection! The only downside is the chips. Sometimes just right and the next overcooked and hard. Perhaps cooking 'proper' chips would finish the meal off.
Puddings are sometimes had (if room) Some would say a little overpriced, but then the taste (my partner admits) over rules this. He can certainly recommend the crumble.
Atmosphere is very good as is the waitress service, very attentive and friendly. Although perhaps they could remove cardigans when serving at the tables as it seems to flap all over the place. And the new manager? could be a little more attentive. No eye contact or friendly banter. Very low on customer service to say he is front of house.
They don't reserve tables, but then again you're not waiting long for one to become free.
I am doing my rating on this steak night only as not visited for other bar meals for a while.
