I had my wedding here, and it was a MESS!!!! I was told they don't book anything else on a day they have a wedding; well, as we were getting ready to walk in the ceremony there was a job fair in the HALLWAY right outside the doors. There were a ton of creepy men telling me and my bridesmaids how beautiful we looked. We could not do our receiving line due to the job fair. They also used that room as soon as we were out of it, and uses my stanchions...that I PAID for. They said they cut the cake, and left out that they were going to butcher my gorgeous cake into the smallest most ridiculous pieces; the cake was supposed to be approximately a piece per person, everyone ate 2-3 pieces and there was still a ton leftover!! We also paid for 3 hours of open bar that they started a half hour early (without asking) and only ran for 2 1/2 hours. My mom had confirmed on two different occasions that we could postpone clean up until the next morning; before the reception was over we were informed everything needed to be cleaned up that night for a wedding scheduled early the next day...which was a HUGE hassle!!!! If Susan promises you anything make her right it out...she promises the world and does NOT deliver (even goes as far as implying you're lying)!!! Very disappointed...huge waste of money!!!!!

Obviously, there are always two sides to every story. It is quite apparent that the hotel needs to tell its side of the event. I am not quite sure where the information regarding "the client being told that the hotel would not book any other events the day of a wedding came from", but not booking additional business would never be in the best interest of the hotel. This is not our policy now nor has it ever been. As a sales team, it is our job to book events. The "creepy" old men that are referred to by the client are members of a great fraternal organization that has booked many events with us over the past year and well into next year. This group does many good things within the community and throughout the state. I am not sure that receiving compliments has ever been considered "unacceptable" by a guest until now. Our banquet staff has a routine for cutting and serving the wedding cake. It is the same manner for all of our receptions. I do not believe that the cake was "butchered". I am not aware of any past complaints over this service that we offer. With regard to the bar, I believe that the bar opening earlier was per instructions of a decision maker within the wedding party. We time our services exact and I am certain that the bar remained open the correct length of time. With regard to promising the world and not delivering, I could go into further detail regarding the event, yet I am choosing to take the high road. With that being said, many concessions were given to the group including last minute changes that we, as an entire staff and hotel, accomodated. I am sorry that this particular bride feels this way. I am confident that my staff and I took excellent care of the group from beginning to end.
