I didn't think it was possible for a hotel to live up to its reviews, but this hotel does. It is the most disgusting hotel I have EVER stayed in, and I travel quite a bit. To start, the lobby floor was covered with dead bugs. While I'm glad they were dead and not crawling, it's still gross. We were there 3 nights, and those bugs never moved, which means no one swept or mopped the lobby that entire time. The lobby that has the breakfast area in it. Yuck.
The elevator was quick, so that is a plus. However, we stayed on the 3rd floor and the hallway air conditioning did not work. It was like a sauna in the hallway. Which also meant it stank. As far as I could tell, there was no smoking in the hotel, but the hall smelled like stale smoke. Definitely disgusting when the hallway is hot and humid as well.
The rooms (we had 3 rooms booked 301, 303, 305) were filthy. All of the floors were covered in crumbs. I'm not talking a few here and there, or just in the corners. Nope. 305 literally looked like someone had dumped most of a bag of chips on the floor. So it's not like the housekeeper just missed it. 301 and 303 had dirty sheets. 303 had makeup on 2 of the 4 pillows. Coffee spilled all over the counter in 305. You see where I'm going with this? The rooms obviously had not been completely cleaned. Garbage cans were empty of trash, so those had been changed, but none of the amenities had been restocked. Bathroom floors were filthy. In 303, the bottom of the door was coming off which kept it from closing without shoving on it.
Thankfully, we had read these reviews and brought cleaning supplies and a vacuum. And bug spray. All 3 rooms were cleaner when we left than when we arrived, so hopefully someone gets those 3 rooms.
We had many friends staying in the same hotel and every one said that the rooms were dirty.
Completely unacceptable as far as hotels go. I wouldn't have stayed there if there were any other rooms available in the city, but everything was sold out.
No bugs in the rooms (other than a dead spider found after spraying bug spray) that we could see. The beds ARE comfortable, pillows seem to be new, and the carpet, if it was clean, would be quite nice. A coat of paint on the walls (which were scuffed with black marks all over) along with cleaning and restocking of the amenities and the hotel would have been fine. However, since they apparently do not have even one housekeeper, don't expect to have a clean room.
Breakfast was donuts, boxes of cereal, and brown water that they called coffee (not exaggerating). We just went to McD's down the street or The Lincoln Inn downtown.
Management doesn't care either, as people that complained were asked if they wanted to check out, or forcibly checked out with no where to go.
The location to the college/convocation center is the only bonus for this hotel. Only positive. I will never stay in this hotel again.
Just don't stay here. There IS no good room. Best room is at another hotel!
