“I'll be back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2013

Nice place. My second stay here.
Great desk staff. Clean, quiet, comfortable rooms, great location, several nearby restaurants.
The location is relatively secure. No real security issues. Was greeted with a warm cookie, promptly checked in, and all went exactly as it should.
Ravanelli's or Bandana BBQ nearby are outstanding. As well as the restaurant on the property.

Comfortable hotel with easy access to everything in St. Louis, if you are traveling with a car. Great amenities and food. We like staying here and will be back. The lady at the desk went into the restaurant to get me a cup of coffee, and then went back for some hot water when I thought it was too strong. That is service well beyond what was needed.

This hotel has a facade of fanciness, but really fell below my expectations. We were staying there for a wedding, so there were a few other guests that we knew staying there for the same event. Upon our arrival, it's my understanding that they offer you a free cookie. Check-in was 3 o'clock, they had no cookies. They did give us vouchers for cookies at a later time, but that's just weird. Am I going to walk down to the desk at 12am (when we got back from the wedding and reception) to ask for a cookie? Next, we went up to our room and were greeted with a horrifyingly sweet smell that never went away. I'm really sensitive to smells and couldn't stop sneezing but also couldn't do anything about it. Seems silly to complain to the front desk about something they probably can't change without masking it with some other nasty smell. I went to change the temperature on the thermostat, as it was a little warm in there, and found that it was already as low as it could go. When the A/C kicked on, it was freezing cold. When it was off, we were all sweaty. There was also a freaky set of wires coming out of the actual unit. Seems TOTALLY SAFE. Our bathroom was a little dirty (just the sink and shower; the toilet was clean enough, you know, for a toilet). But the weird issue was that we could hear everything going on in the room next to us through the bathroom. Not comfortable. The toilet ran CONSTANTLY if you didn't jiggle the handle. Neat. Our sheets had a nasty stain on them. Disgusting. Clearly they'd been laundered, but that doesn't really make it less gross. We didn't see it until the next morning, or we would've requested different sheets. The bed was actually very comfortable, the only real plus of the stay. They had a firepit outside, and we thought it'd be great to get a drink from the bar and sit around it and chat for a bit. First, the barstaff wasn't really the most friendly I've come across. I drank a bit out of my cocktail and asked for some extra juice in it (I appreciate a strong drink as a bartender myself, but not the the point of undrinkable); one of the bartenders acted like her entire night was ruined by the request (she had to go get a new jug of it). Yikes. We moved outside to sit by the firepit and it wasn't turned on. We tried to find a switch anywhere to no avail. One of our companions went to the desk to ask about it, and they said, simply, "We can't get it to work." Sounds like a cop-out. No apology, just no. They offered a breakfast buffet the next day (around $13, totally fine) but we went in and there was no one in there and the food was pretty empty. Neat. We went to a restaurant close by. Sadly, not the worst hotel I've stayed in. And we didn't even spend a lot of time there!

Front desk was friendly and helpful. Was there for a company gather and was treated pleasantly. They were out of their cookies and we received a coupon to come back after a while. They have a nice breakfast buffet.
Bath tub was a little old looking.

http://www.tripadvisor.com/members-photos/soccermom201 Hotel was the main hotel for a soccer event. The rooms were nice. However we were awoken around 5 am to a mouse that had fallen into the garbage can under the desk. Mouse was not happy. Family even unhappier to share the room. We were given free tickets to overpriced breakfast. Reconsidering our stay at an Embassy Suites in Nashville in two weeks.

This Doubletree was great--although I had to wait quite a while to check in because they were overbooked. Happy hour at the bar is great and some days beer, wine, well and apps are free (I thinkWednesday). The beds are soft and the rooms are quiet. The food is good.
