“Perfect place to recharge on way to Paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

As soon as I walked through the door I was made to feel at home. Bike was put in the garage. I was served tea and cake, given a towel to dry myself off from the rain and offered the chance to put my soaked shoes and socks in the wash. Great dinner and perfect breakfast to fuel me for the ride to Paris. If you're thinking of stopping somewhere on your way to Paris, you must stop here, I definitely will the next time I do the London to Paris bike ride.

A wonderful welcome and relaxing tea and cake in the garden. Three delicious evening meals, three comfy, cosy nights and three amazing breakfasts. Fantastic friendly hosts who speak good English but were just as willing to help us along with our beginners French.

We booked here based on the reviews of other travellers and we were not disappointed. Difficult to know where to start and we can only agree with the other reviewers on here; we've stayed at countless chambres d'hotes all over France and we're struggling to think of one that is better than this. It's a combination of the friendliness and hospitality shown by Marie, Thierry and Lea, the food, the location, the place and the room and it all just works so well. The care shown by Marie to my dietary requirements was amazing; I often find it awkward at most places I eat but Marie makes you feel so comfortable. The food is just so tasty and so thoughtfully prepared - dinner is excellent and breakfast means you can skip lunch - sensational home made jams, eggs, meat, cheese, fruit, home made bread, pancakes, crepes, home made cake. The room we stayed in was lovely and the bed was very comfortable while the place itself is very well looked after. We will definitely return.

Fantastic welcome!
Lovely Dinner in the evening!
Beautiful rooms and facilities!

The breakfast was a treat for all cyclists and everything was freshly baked by Marie!
We had a really a wonderful time, and would recommend it to both cyclists and those traveling in that area!

My second visit to Les Chambres du Confiturier de Malethi ...this time for three nights, and everything about it is first class. Marie, Thierry and Lea all work so hard and so lovingly, and it shows in everything they do at their B & B. From the moment you arrive at their gate until you drive off at the end of your stay, they are dedicated to making you feel welcome and cared for in every way.

A group of 3 of us recently stayed for one night at Les Chambres du Confiturier and were made to feel very welcome. We were on a self-organised charity bike ride from Lindon to Paris following Donald Hirsch's route, this was how we came to find out about this b&b.

We expected to arrive late evening so had emailed the owner, Marie, who was very helpful and accommodating. At the time of booking Marie offered us dinner for extra cost, and it was well worth it!

On our arrival, Marie and her husband Thierry greeted us and guided us to a garage to store and lock up our bikes overnight.

We were directed to our room to get ourselves washed and changed ahead of the dinner Marie was preparing for us. The bedroom was very comfortable and the whole house well decorated in a modern farmhouse style. It was much more comfortable than we expected and by far our most pleasant stop during our trip to Paris.

For dinner we were served a full three course meal plus a cheese course with home made jams and chutneys. Marie and Thierry joined us and chatted with us through the meal; their English was much better than our French! We all enjoyed their company and getting to know each other.

Breakfast the next day was another feast with more food than we could manage to eat so we were given freshly home-made croissants to take on our journey. We were even given some helpful advice for our onward journey of a nice town to stop in and get a sandwich/coffee which turned out to be a huge morale boost given the weather we faced!

All of us would definitely recommend this b&b and go back to stay.

Thank you Marie and Thierry for your hospitality and being one of the highlights of our trip.

Les chambres du confiturier de Malethi is a really nice stop along the Avenue verte cycling route! Marie and family are the perfect hosts attending to everyone's needs. I was welcomed like a member of the family....maybe even better! The meals were just excellent and so was the accommodation. I'd highly recommend staying here!
