This hotel is in a perfect spot for tourists. You are very close to Millennium Park and across the street of the train station. We were on the 10th floor - we were in the back of the hotel and thus our view was of the backs of other skyscrapers. Because we were in the back of the hotel we didn't hear any train noise. The staff is nice enough and the rooms are kept pretty clean. Everything was up to date and worked properly. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant, "Ada". Breakfast was fine - but nothing special. We ended up eating breakfast in the nearby Corner Bakery for the rest of our time there. Definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back of the hotel to avoid train noise of the near by elevated train.

Great location within walking to all things in the Chicago downtown. Exceptionally friendly staff. Were we really in Chicago? We had nice room on 9th floor. Not best view, but what do you expect for downtown - your going to see another building. Only reason for rating of 4 and not 5 is the bed was uncomfortable [soft] and only queen size. Also the room needs a comfortable sitting chair.

Room Tip: Our room 916 was not on the street side so we did not hear the EL train. I suspect on the street si...

This hotel is beautiful, comfortable, affordable, and in a perfect location. The lobby is huge, and a relaxing place to sit & visit. Why stay anywhere else in Chicago? Staff was extremely accomdating and professional. Will absolutely return next trip! Parking for one of our visitors seemed awkward and expensive (but we didn't have a car, so not an issue for us). Many restaurants nearby, too.

Got this room thru priceline for $100 on a Friday night & was happy. Great location, clean room, pleasant staff. Didnt have any noise as many here mentioned. An older property, but everything was very clean, room was large, nice comfy King bed, so all good here. Like all downtown hotels, parking is ridiculous..... use grant park garage & save $15. All the staff are VERY friendly!!!

We took a gamble on picking a hotel for chicago, Just by reading the reviews didn't want to spend too much $ but yet have a nice place to relax at the end of a busy chicago day. This place was beyond my expectations. Places to go if you want casual dining/bars, Rudy's very close to hotel also have a double milkshake martini you will not regret it, Lou Mitchells for breakfast, Pippins & Streeter for drinks and chicago dogs, best place to eat in chinatown is the May flower I asked one of the locals and it was true. Millers pub which is also close to hotel for drinks lunch and great service!!! The Silversmith was wonderful!!!

Centrally located with easy accessibility the Silversmith provided comfortable accomodation for our work/visit time in Chicago. Staying on the 10th floor in the rear of the building kept us away from the noise of the L which is conveniently located just steps away. Our room and bath were large enough, clean enough and comfortable enough. Every sort of restaurant is within walking distance as well as stores to pick up forgotten or needed necessities, like Target or CVS.

Room Tip: The higher the floor the better and a room in the rear is best
