Location to the west of city center at the Blue Line Clinton train station. Clean hotel with amenities you would expect at a Holiday Inn. What sets this hotel apart is the staff...every associate I encountered! Not only do they smile, make eye contact and create a welcoming atmosphere - they engage EVERY guest! It was impressive! My hats off to the entire team. Your pride in your workplace shines through.

We chose this property mainly for the convenience to Union Station, but it is also close to the blue line. It's an older building and close to the interstate, so expect some noise from traffic! But, all-in-all, the staff is, BY FAR, the most friendly and helpful I've ever experienced at any hotel anywhere! The rooms are clean, the bed is comfortable and the bath amenities are abundant! They go the extra mile by fan-folding the toilet tissue, Kleenex and face cloths! It's like you're on a cruise ship w/out the folded towel monkey! They also hand-deliver your USA Today newspaper to your door in the am. May not be a big deal to most, but for us, it's just a great experience to stay here. There's at least one restaurant here, but we did not visit there.

Comfortable and functional rooms. Plenty of electrical outlets: the lamps on each side of the bed had two on each plus one on the desk lamp. A good Pizza-Italian restrant is attached to the building, makes it easy to enjoy a good meal and collapse on a big comfortable bed after a day at work. The Wi-Fi worked well with both my laptop and my I-Pod. There are aditional eating option only a few blocks from the hotel. Chicago Union Station is only about three blocks away and a Blue line subway station is at the end of the block making the use of public transportation easy. I have flown into O'Hare and taken the Blue line train to the hotel, only a one block walk.

Room Tip: Try to be on the side away from Canal street to reduce the traffic noise.

The front desk people, the valet workers, and others at this hotel could give lessons on how to treat guests. They are consistently extremely friendly and always looking to be of service.

The rooms could use an upgrade. They are not bad, just getting a little dated.
It would be great if the restaurant operated on as high a level as does the hotel part. Again, not bad, but slow.

If you like the glow of sodium vapor lights, then this place is for you - pull those shades!! It's surprisingly close to the Loop, but the walk is not that pleasant. The hotel is fine - once you get here. One plus is the Blue Line is right around the corner from the front door. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is plentiful.

Room Tip: choose the parking lot side

I stayed here with my family (all adults) in two separate rooms. We picked this hotel for the price and convenience - steps away from a subway station - so we can get around and see downtown without a car. But the area is not very nice (industrial) and there is nothing around there - no restaurants or shops. You are limited to the pricey hotel restaurant for breakfast unless you walk several blocks to Donuts/Starbucks, etc. Besides, it is right by the freeway and it was pretty noisy. The traffic noise woke us up a few times during the night. It is a very small facility and the front desk area is tiny! But the staff was very nice and accommodating and the rooms were OK. Beds were very comfortable. There is no in-room fridge or microwave but there is a small microwave in the giftshop you can use. And they do have a few computers and a printer on the top floor next to the fitness center so I was able to print boarding passes for the return flight (there was no mention about a business center being there even on the in-room service booklet, so I just happened to find out by checking out the fitness center!)

Room Tip: Rooms facing the front may be less noisy. Don't get the one near the ice machine (smaller room)
