“Incredible property, service, and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I just completed a weekend stay and must say the property and staff were top notch and service was unparalleled.
We were upgraded to a one-bedroom suite which had two full bathrooms and a very comfortable living room/sitting area. We did not hear any of the other guests from our room and were very happy with the accommodations.
The location was unbeatable - 2 blocks from the "L", 3 blocks from Michigan Ave, and right in the heart of a very vibrant and fun area with all kinds of restaurants and shops.
Andy at the front desk took care of one minor issue with one of the bath tubs and we cannot say enough nice things about him and the entire staff at this hotel.
Since the lounge was closed on the weekend, as elite rewards members, we were given $15 per person/per day vouchers for breakfast at Bin 36 (more than enough to have a delicious and very filling breakfast).
Platinum arrival gift was points or a $10 food and drink voucher which paid for a drink at the very cool Crimson Lounge.
I was hesitant after reading online reviews but I was blown away by the level of service and attention to detail.
The hotel is undergoing some construction but did not impact our stay at all.
Next time in Chicago we will look no place else.

The location was very close to all the action. Top notch. It is right next to the house of blues. Use that location to find it. It was a bit hard to find where to unload your car. The water temp of the shower was a bit cold. Not really warm.

Used this hotel to be close to the house of blues this past weekend. You cannot beat the location to the house of blues! Steps away from the venue! Check in was quick and easy. The staff that we encountered were helpful and very friendly. We had a room on the 12th floor. Great view of the city and river. The room was clean and cozy. Great bathroom and bedding. Comforter and pillows made a great nice stay The location of this hotel is excellent. Walked to Michigan avenue- great shopping and restaurants close by. Did not use any of the hotel services. Would stay again.

First thing i want to point out is the good part and that is hotel being right in the city. Now the bad part was the heat in the room was not working even when we set the temperature to 80 degrees. Being luxury hotel it didnt provide free breakfast or wifi, then bathroom lock was broken and then the worst off all the view from our room was bad as it was blocked by parking lot. Last but not least i couldn't get elevator access to the zym in the basement. Over all bad experience and would not say there again.

Manny S,
Thank you for being a guest of Hotel Chicago. It was our pleasure to have you. We always love hearing back from our guests, and appreciate your feedback about our Wi-Fi cost and breakfast not being an inclusion. Our current renovations promise to raise the bar on luxury stays, and we apologize if our elevators were not in service during your stay. We strive to offer excellent amenities, our gym facility being just one. Hotel Chicago offers a variety of rooms with differing views, and hope in the future we’ll see you return, and have a view of the city you’ll enjoy!

The photographs of the hotel are much better than the reality. It is more worn and dated than we expected. Our room had a decent sized stain on the carpet that I preferred not to think was blood, there was no hot water at our bathroom sink (discovered when forced to shave with ice water the following morning) and the reading light socket on my side of the bed was hanging down by its wiring.

On the plus side, the staff was friendly, the hot water was corrected that day, the shower was a "10" for water pressure and temperature, and the hotel has a great location close to everything you'd want.

Next time we'll choose a different place in the general vicinity. It wasn't horrible by any means, but there are too many other great options in this area.

Bruce W,
We are best known for our friendly staff, accommodations and location, and thank you for your kind words about our hot showers! We always appreciate hearing from our guests and thank you for your feedback about our room’s furnishings. We apologize for the stain on your carpet, and that the reading light was not in proper order. We are sorry too that your sink did not have hot water and are taking all of these issues into careful consideration. If you are looking for a Chicago stay in the future, we’d love the opportunity to make your stay excellent; our hot showers will be here too!

Not impressed by this boutique hotel. My hotel room had a tired look and feel: old furniture, a hardened imprint on the rug where a hot iron must have sat; lamp switches that were hard to find and not all working; a remote control that needed new batteries. My oatmeal came with a hard ball of brown sugar. The bed, however, was extremely comfortable. I got two nights of great sleep. And the staff was courteous and helpful. I know the hotel is undergoing a renovation in the lobby...not sure if it will extend to the rooms. Hopefully it will.

Didn't expect much based on reviews, but honestly as a slave to the Marriott points system I don't think I'll stay anywhere else in Chicago.
Quirky rooms, interestingly done decor, spotlessly clean and some of the most personable service I've had. Throw in the aircraft carrier size bed swathed in Egyptian cotton and I'm struggling to knock this place. Okay, one knock....I don't think there's a restaurant for breakfast and the concierge lounge is closed weekends..but honestly the location is, literally perfect so I will drag myself the 0.06 miles to the nearest Starbucks / Dunkin etc. Don't know why I didn't stay here sooner, I will definitely be back.
