My daughter and I had a Girls Night Out (overnight) and we love the hotel. We were trying to pick a central location to EVERYTHING in Chicago. Being from Chicago (but living in the burbs), it was pretty easy to determine that this was the best place - near the Gold Coast, great restaurants, off the Mag Mile and shopping. The price for the value was excellent and the check in process was literally 60 seconds! We booked on line, ahead of time so all of our info was in the system. When we got to our room, we were very impressed with the décor and the size (we reserved 2 queens). The cool thing was a motion-sensed night light between the beds, so if one of us got up in the middle of the night, the path was illuminated; AWESOME! The beds were VERY comfortable and the bathroom and shower, very nicely appointed.
The sushi bar, open from 5pm - 10pm was nice and or waiter was fabulous! After sushi, we were needing some chocolate/candy but did not want to order dessert, per se. He actually went behind the scenes and found some Smarties for us! That may sound weird, but the fact that he went on a mission to find "something" for us speaks volumes ;) Since we love sushi, it was great to have a late night snack pre-bed. Even if you don't like sushi, it's a good place for a coffee/dessert and other foods.
Now, for the not so good.....since my daughter and I had only 1 roll of sushi (8 pieces between the two of us), we were a little hungry later in the evening...DO NOT ORDER ROOM SERVICE! I only say that because of the cost. We ordered 20 min. before closing and it just wasn't worth the $45 cost of a grilled cheese with kale, a side of fries and a side of pulled pork fritter-kind-of thing. Other than that, a great value and a great stay! Also, a nice indoor pool which was the perfect temp and a nice fitness room.
