5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2014

This older boutique hotel is in a very nice area north of town by Wrigley Field. Awesome attention to detail. Dan the Concierge is the "go to" man for current information on what to do in Chicago, where to eat, and how to ride the bus..etc. Would come back here just for his love of the city and the attention he gives to guests. Good morning breakfast..simple and easy, comforting atmosphere
I will be ready to come back. Staff excels. Loved Chicago!.

Originally, the Majestic was selected because many other hotels in the Chicago were so expensive. Our group was attending a trade show at the convention center and found the Majestic was a reasonable cab ride to the convention center (approximately $20.00 each way.) The staff at this property went above and beyond to provide excellent customer service. All the staff members were very helpful and willing to assist with any request.

The added bonus was the proximity to Wrigley Field. A friend of mine was meeting our group for a Cubs game and he had to park further than the hotel was located from Wrigley Field. In addition, the hotel is a five minute cab ride to a nice area with a plethora of dining options and activities throughout the night.

The rooms were above average and the bed was very comfortable. A good wireless connection was provided and there were no issues connecting to the internet. In addition, there was a nice breakfast. Fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, cereal, pastries, milk, juices, coffee and other items were provided. The common area was well kept and ample space for sitting and talking with other guests.

Stayed there in March 2014 for one night. Good location in a very pleasant neighborhood with many restaurants within walking distance; parking was $25 and a few blocks away.
Got the room on Groupon. It was adequate and just clean enough: the bathroom floor was a bit smeary under the terry rug, and the sheets seemed not quite fresh. The mini bar was one of the best stocked we've seen, and the snack supply was ample, if one were to be marooned there by weather. The breakfast room could have been cleaner -- the tables were a bit smeary and had crumbs, and the set-up was a bit messy and awkward: had to cross people in close quarters bussing their dishes in order to reach some of the food. However, for the Groupon price, would definitely stay there again.

Stayed here for the 1st time in February. Loved the location, the price, the staff and the breakfast area. It is rare that I like a hotel so much that I make a point of going back. This is one of the rare ones.

The name says it all! We absolutely loved our stay at the Majestic and would recommend it to anyone headed to Chicago, especially if you are there to catch a Cubs game, as its only a 10-15 minute walk to Wrigley! My husband an I stayed in a King Suite, which provided lots of space and included a kitchenette, along with a fully stoked minibar, and all of the usual amenities. We slept very well here, which is extremely important to us - the bed was comfy, it was quiet, and in room air conditioning kept us cool at night. The area is fabulous, super safe, super walk-able, super convenient. Staff were excellent - friendly & helpful. Thank you!!!

I found the staff this visit better than the last visit. The rooms are the same. The downstairs buffet room was now completed, it was under construction my last visit. I wish there were a chair in the room suitable for reading...there is the desk chair and the bed as the only choices now. My daughter lives in the area so this is a very convenient place to stay. Also nice if you just want to walk along the lake. Not the greatest for downtown attractions if that is what you're looking for.

Room Tip: Location depends on what you plan to do; walk to Wrigley, bus to downtown. The rooms are fairly smal...

Thank-you to Roxana Dumbrava, Asst. General Manager who worked with me so we could stay just one night instead of a 2 night minimum over Easter weekend. I would consider the staff at the Majestic to be very customer oriented and very accommodating to your needs. Everyone was so friendly which makes your stay extra special. My son lives one block from this quaint hotel and it was an absolutely perfect visit being so close to him. I am also amazed that parking is only $22/day with in and out privileges at the condo building next door to the Majestic. The Queen Suite with 2 queen beds is so spacious and reasonable for Chicago. The rooms have been updated some since my last visit with new furnishings. The things that would make my next visit even extra special would be updates to the bathroom such as new grouting to the bathroom floor and to reseal the bathtubs. The grout around the tiles were very stained due to age and the bathtub had peeling reseal. The wallpaper, draperies and carpet were dated but clean. I also believe that if the wood threshold at the bottom of the room door was cleaned and refinished, a person's first impression walking in their room would be more positive. The lounge has been nicely updated and I must say to get glass plates and glass coffee cups during your continental breakfast in the morning makes you feel right at home too, instead of paper plates. I'm really looking forward to our next visit to the Majestic.

Room Tip: Queen suites are very spacious.
