“Amazing Service. Excelent in all ways”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2014

This was our first time in Chicago with my girlfriend. We were impressed. They say first impressions are the most important, and the Talbott did an excelent job of giving us a mirror image of what we were going to find in Chicago. The staff was very friendly from day 1. We were first given a room with a little cigarette odor, and they immediately changed our room. We later used the hotel services for several different reasons. We never ate at the hotel's restaurant because we had a big list of places to eat at unforunately, but we were certainly tempted.
The hotel's look is reminiscent of another decade, but still very elegant and nice. I have always thought that the most important item in a hotel room is the pillows and BOY did they have good pillows. But the best part of this hotel was the price. Located at the very heart of the "fancy north district" in chicago, just two blocks away from Mag Mile, this hotel has nothing to envy of the Sofitel in front of it or the Waldorf on the back. And still we got a booking at less than half the price of those.
So don't even thing about it. This is the place to stay at in Chitown. Have fun.

Room Tip: Just ask the staff nicely, and get a room with a view.

My friend and I spent 4 nights here and had a wonderful time. The staff was MOST helpful. My only issue was the WiFi...not sure if it was being on the 15th floor, but the connection was dreadfully slow.

Room Tip: If you need WiFi access, it might be best to stay closer to a lower-level floor.

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at the Talbott, loved the location. Quick walk to multiple restaurants including Giordanno's and easy to get to from a Red Line train! The staff was extremely kind, and the room was very nice, especially for the price!

This is one hotel name to remember! The location is perfect for most of the sights. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with an old style charm and good WiFi. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff and the price is very reasonable. The diner recommended to us by the doorman became our regular breakfast joint.

This is indeed a great boutique hotel that lives up to its high rating. The staff were kind and helpful. The room was nicely appointed and large. The location is ideal - about 3 blocks from Michigan Ave. at the Hancock Tower. The street has a neighborhood feel to it; coffee and multiple restaurant choices are close at hand and I felt safe walking around with my two children. Our room was in the back so it was extremely quiet, though a bit dark. If you like a high end experience in a smaller environment, this is the perfect place.

Well located, cozy and so very comfortable. But you always remember a hotel by the interactions with staff. From concierge's assistance with plans prior to our Chicago weekend, to front desk, bell men, restaurant and housekeeping, every single person was amiable, helpful and warm. Minor issues were instantly resolved. Breakfast at Mercadito on the sidewalk was delicious. The expected such as comfortable bed, luxury linens, quiet, dark, good air conditioning was all there. A delightful experience. Can't wait to repeat.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a deluxe room, well worth it!

While we sometimes stay in those big monster, nonpersonal hotels, we always love staying in the calmer, boutique hotels. The Talbott Hotel has always been a favorite. No, the elevators aren't fast, no, it doesn't have coffee/tea urns in the lobby, but what it does have is a great location off of the miracle mile (we prefer being on the northern part in this area in general, and is quiet and well run. The beds are very comfortable and the sheets wonderful. Internet worked fine. The room had its own coffee maker and the bathroom had Molly Brown products. Our room looked upon another building so the room was dark, but we had sufficient lights by the bed so who cared? My only small--very small--issue is that the cleaning

Room Tip: I always try to stay away from the elevator as people often talk when waiting.
