“Classic Hotel with a famous martini”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Enjoyed our stay over Valentines day. The lobby is decent, nothing breathtaking. There is a bar in the lobby with a piano and the BEST apple martini I have ever had. The room is small but updated, very comfortable, and they utilize the space well. I was a little surprised when a knock on the door went unheard (due to a little valentines day romance) and an employee began to enter. Apparently they do a mini bar check, thought the room was unoccupied. Needless to say I blocked the door just in time - WHEW!! Nothing beats a doorman that hails cabs - even in a snowstorm. The parking is VERY expensive ($65) for 24 hour in and out. There is cheaper parking in a garage directly across the street but they are RUDE and once I squeezed my car in, they said they are full and I had to carefully maneuver my car out - in reverse (I would rather pay the $$$ ) . The hotel is a block away from Mag mile and Water tower place. It is in a great and safe location. I would return and definitely have another apple martini!!!!!

Great hotel in prime location. Lots of history as well (once serving as the playboy mansion) and is actually believed to be haunted! only downside is that the rooms are rather small and the plumbing system seems to be on the weak side where it was difficult to get strong running hot water in the shower. hotel staff friendly and enthusiastic about helping you with any queries.

I stayed there for a night on Fed 25th. As soon as I arrived at the front desk, I was greeted by the FD agent Sam, who was very friendly and welcoming, and even helped me with my bill after I found there was a surprising charge of the mini bar few days later, which was mistakenly charged to my credit card.

The room # was 1205 with two double beds. Room was clean and had enough space for two people to hang out, with two windows looking at the back of the hotel. Quiet at night and can’t hear sound from elevators. Bed was clean and comfy, with nice duvet and pillows.

I also asked for extra pillows, sleepers and bathrobe ,which was delivered to my room in a short time.
Also, I stored my bag with the concierge Craig after checked out , who was also friendly and attentive.

I found the staffs ,especially Sam and Craig , had a very positive attitude toward their work ,and more importantly , toward the hotel guests.

The only thing I’d suggest the hotel to improve was the water pressure in the shower , it was weak and I waited for a while for the hot water to come.

Room Tip: Ask for front desk agent Sam, very helpful and professional. higher floor has better viewing feeli...

This place had a very generous doorman, the restaurant staff were very hardworking group of people, and our room were made daily. It was close to the shopping areas, and a great Japanese Restaurant right around the corner.

We stayed at the Knickerbocker for a night in early March. Staff and check in were friendly and fast. The room was modern and clean, although pretty small. Take note of you have a lot of luggage it may be a tight fit. The bathroom had a shower only a strange toilet that was water efficient and didn't always flush all the way, but it wasn't a big deal. The rain shower head was nice. A touchscreen computer with all the airport services and local things to do comes on automatically in the morning and was a bit bright, but useful. Bed was very comfortable. Overall good stay and would stay again.

This was a nice and historic hotel in a great location. Our room was comfortable and attractive. Staff is friendly and helpful. Location is perfect, close to Michigan
Avenue. Only negative was the shower. Any shower that has instructions on the wall is too complicated for me! I highly recommend this hotel. Great location and price.

This hotel is clean and neat, with amazing staff! Our doorman "HollyWood" was fantastic! He always greeted us with a warm smile, made sure we were attended to, and gave the best advice in terms of restaurant locations. Everyone was honestly sweet and I would definitely recommend booking with this hotel.
