Hotel is beautiful and large and is a few blocks from Michigan Avenue. Concierge level room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. Concierge lounge was usually too crowded and seating was at a premium. Concierge personnel in the lounge were rarely around when you needed them to ask a question. However, the concierge in the lobby was excellent and offered numerous wonderful restaurant choices.

We ended up staying at this hotel I swear during the busy week ever. We paid $289 through Marriott.com not sure it was worth that much but there was no where else to stay at the time.
The rooms were clean and up to date. They could leave more towels in the bathrooms we had to keep callin for more. There was no fridge to keep drinks in. We were on the 21st floor looking into buildings and the train, which you can hear. They wanted $20 extra a night for river view, really?
There is no business center you have to pay to use kinkos which is located within the hotel, I found this highly annoying. Check in was quick. Bar tender was nice a drink was $10 but very typical in Chicago. Location makes this hotel awesome!

Stayed two nights over 4th of July weekend. Check-in was uneventful. Really enjoyed getting up early for a jog outside- just crossed Wacker to the river, where there are nice wide paths for biking and walking, all the way out to the lake. Visited the hotel bar, for a quick drink before dinner. Bartender was too busy chatting it up with his lady patrons sitting at the bar, to give us prompt, courteous service. Had to stand and wait for a glass of wine, $20, ouch. Marriott on Michigan avenue has a much livelier bar and far more efficient. Enjoyed the hot-tub in the "Late" afternoon after all of the unattended "YOUNG" children finally cleared out. Hallways in the hotel are looking a bit rough, could use new paint and carpet. The rooms were nice, the bathrooms updated and roomy.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a River view, very nice. You can watch the kayaks and boats going by. Beware o...

We changed hotels at the last minute because of the health issues at the JW Marriott. The Marriott operator lead us to believe we could have a waterfront room, on a high floor, possibly a suite due to the problem at the JW. Sorry to say, that did not happen. We received a room facing an alley on the 9th floor. So much for being a Marriott Elite member! The hotel was packed but we were checked in fairly quickly. Our room was clean and comfortable and housekeeping staff was wonderful. The restaurant has a lovely view and an outstanding breakfast buffet. The bar in the lobby is a great spot to relax after a day of sightseeing. The hotel is located across from the river and close to all that downtown Chicago has to offer. We were able to walk everywhere and take in most of the sights. We would return.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the river!

Great location with easy access to the Blue Line for access to O'Hare (5 min walk from Clark/Lake to the hotel). Check-in was easy, friendly folks, room was clean, comfortable and with a great view of Marina Towers and the Chicago River. Also have aveda bath products which I per5sonally like. Easy walk to all tourist attractions (if that's what you're in Chicago for) or easy access to almost anything for business travelers. Good food around the hotel and within walking distance.

Room Tip: 2230 Has a great view of Marina Towers and Chicago River but it has 2 doubles.

Difficult to beat this for a location in downtown. Close to the main shopping areas & lots of good bars & food places close by. Good amenities, well equipped rooms & helpul staff. Not the cheapest place in town but you get what you pay for.

Perfect location for downtown business, truly professional and customer-service oriented staff and decor. Early check-in (9a) was no problem and staff even set aside a spacious river-view room with a pull-out couch because I booked through the Marriott site and am a rewards member. I stayed here 3 days on business during the nearby Lollapalooza festival in Aug. The room was clean, quiet & freshly decorated, had a huge bathroom and was ideal for working. The well-appointed lobby (with excellent food choices unrelated to the hotel!) was also comfortable and professional and good for working. Wi-fi was not included in the room price and free coffee in the lobby would have been nice. Otherwise, it was excellent.

Room Tip: Book through Marriott's site in order to ease preferred help on site (early check in, special re...
