“Excellent hotel in the center of a wonderful cities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

We stayed at the Hyatt for 3 nights along, and we have absolutely no regrets for choosing the hotel. The price is justified by an excellent location at the center of Chicago, less than a 5 minutes walk from Millenium park, all the malls and restaurants, and a 10 min walk from navy pier. The service was excellent, checkin/out very smooth, rooms very clean, and there's free high speed internet in the lobby. Moreover, the lobby is very vast and has several restaurants, a minimarket, a pub and free access computer and printing services. The only downside is probably the absence of a pool and the relatively small fitness center.

My husband came down from the border of WI/IL to stay overnight and celebrate our anniversary - this hotel was EXCELLENT - and they recognized our anniversary - TWICE with champagne and strawberries. The staff was very friendly, accomodating. Get the room with breakfast for the buffet at 25 bucks a person - SO WORTH it.... The location - Perfect - the walk to Navy Pier was nice and not too long. Just absolutely loved the place - we will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Ask for a view room - worth the 20 bucks upgrade.

I could not have been more pleased with the level of service that I received from this hotel!!! The list of positive things to mention will go long beyond my character allowance!! Two people I would like to thank would be Laronda at the Concierge desk...she helped us secure amazing seats to a Cubs baseball game - thank you!! And to Ilya...this young man was very helpful with an internet issue we had!! I can not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Chicago...So here is a quick run down...beds - very comfortable, showers - great water pressure, location - AMAZING!!!!! everything is within walking distance, the gym - so clean and the equipment is very up to date. The little market within the hotel is a nice bonus - great to grab a fruit cup and coffee after a morning workout!! As for the complaints about the slow elevator service.....never experienced that issue...they were very quick...we never waited more than 30 seconds for an elevator to arrive, the lobby - bright and always lively with free wifi...just a great hotel....if I had one complaint.....it would be that the hotel does not have outdoor space...I would have loved to sat outside at night to admire the city view, or sat outside to catch some rays during the day....but other than that....beautiful hotel....

We had a great stay in this hotel one block from Michigan Ave. walking distance from Navy Pier and Millennium Park. No pool, so the kids were a little disappointed and the rooms can only accommodate four people. They would not bring a rollaway bed due to lack of space in the room. Understandable, but if you have a need for a bigger room, you may have to find a different hotel. Service was very good but parking was expensive at $59 per night. We will stay here again.

I stayed here just one night for a business trip. Beautiful lobby areas with bar, restaurant and coffee shop. Location is on Wacker, so very convenient to all the downtown Chicago fun. My room was comfortable; especially the bed. There is a nice workspace with plenty of power outlets. In room coffee (can you hear the Hallelujah!). Bathroom was larger, normal Hyatt amenities. I had a lovely view of the lake.

I ordered room service for breakfast, $22 for eggs, bacon, toast and fruit (not bad for downtown chicago). Food was good and arrived in about 35 mins time.

My ONLY complaint was that the room was a bit banged up; closet doors and the desk had scratches, etc. Probably fairly easy to fix.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the lake

The Hyatt Regency is a great hotel if you are looking to explore downtown Chicago. It is right on the River and easy hop to the River walk. It is also a great starting spot for walks to the Art Institute and the Museums.

It is large hotel with conference facilities and as such is usually really busy. The coffee bar in the morning is usually 15-20 people deep so plan accordingly.

The room was wonderful and really spacious. I was on the 16flr with a view of the River and it was wonderful. I do wonder however, if there are rooms facing Navy Pier so you could watch the fireworks which I believe happen relatively regularly.

I ate in the restaurant twice and both times the food and service was excellent.

Overall, a great spot and I would definitely stay here again.
