“Great rooms and location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2014

We had a 1 bedroom and it was nice for a family of four. I think we paid around $150 per night. We used the online spothero to reserve parking nearby a head of time which was $40 for a little over 48 hrs (way cheaper route) Nice staff and Free breakfast in the morning but can really fill up in the mornings so get there early or be patient for a table to open up. The location is ideal close to water tower, American girl,Lego store all the kids places we had to go to. We took the ltrain to the nearest stop to shedds-Then grabbed a cab from the ltrain to shedds. Not sure we saved any $ doing that though.
So great place to consider for nice upscale-clean place if you can find a good rate!

We stayed at the Embassy for one night over spring break. It was the perfect location for our family's visit to Chicago. Check in was a breeze. The room was typical for an Embassy. Very clean and functional. The manager's reception was good -they even had some board games available. Breakfast was great as usual for an Embassy. We used valet parking and the service was excellent. We have stayed at many hotels downtown Chicago and this will be at the top of our list for our next visit. Highly recommend.

This hotel is in a perfect location to get to Michigan Ave and the bus routes to all the tourist spots. Would definitely stay here again. We had no trouble walking to Michigan Ave to get the bus to the aquarium. A great location for a good price. Good breakfast and loved the Complimentary Drinks at night. Small pool area but perfect for kids.

The room was clean, the beds comfortable, and the breakfast was very good--real cooked food as opposed to cereal and toast. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The location is close to the shops on Michigan Avenue. Only downside is the pricey valet parking. However, this is downtown Chicago and you are going to pay for parking regardless of where you stay.

Room Tip: Aim high in selecting a room. It helps alleviate street noise.

We met other families at this locale and could walk to theaters, Navy Pier, Water Tower, Michigan Avenue and State Street Shopping! The center atrium allows for gathering to play games, hang out, and enjoy a snack with family/friends. The pool is great as the huge window allows you to watch from inside or outside. Great Locale!!!

This is a family friendly hotel in an awesome location. Our check in was delayed because we requested a city view room. The first person we talked to at the desk wasn't very friendly or helpful and gave no explanation for the delay. We ended up talking to Marissa who went out of her way to call housekeeping to see why our room was taking so long. She sped up the check-in process. We paid extra for a corner city view room on the sixth floor and it didn't give us a view of the city as was suggested. It just avoided giving us the view of the parking garage. Overall great place to stay, nice pool, breakfast buffet crowded but good food.

I have stayed at this property more than 20 times (including the opening weekend) and sadly this last visit was very disappointing.

We arrived and adjoining rooms were not available as I had called to request prior to our arrival. One room was missing a tv in the bedroom and a lamp in the living room. We had to call for housekeeping service as our room had not been cleaned at 5 pm. Our second room never got cleaned. Our last morning I was packing things up and noticed a shopping bag was missing. I immediately called the front desk. Transferred to Sarah in Housekeeping who said she would send up a security guard. Security was a very kind man who spent more than 45 minutes talking about his wife's recent passing and little time on my missing bag. He assured me he would write up a report and that I would be contacted by the hotel, I did get a very nice email from the Front Desk Supervisor that same day that I replied to then CRICKETS!!

I sent two additional emails over the course of ten days before I had anybody contact me. I was told by security that a report had never been filed and now I'm just frustrated. My "go to" Chicago hotel is a huge disappointment. As a Hilton Gold member, I'll be going to another Chicago property. Watch your belongings!!!

Room Tip: Corner rooms are usually lovely
