Parking was expensive ($28/day). The lobby area appeared to be somewhat dated, but nevertheless it was clean. The room was clean, new bedding, nice towels. The breakfast in the Savoy Bar & Grill was around $10, but it was plenty of food.
The pool area is huge, plus a staffed lifeguard.
I've seen other reviews that it's not in a prime downtown location..People, it's still downtown, and a few blocks away..Walk it! A good way of soaking up the Chicago experience is by walking it!
The Valets were very welcoming & hilarious. One of the men remembered me from last year, when they had to retrieve my coat from my parked car..(and a year later, he was still giving me grief about it, in a joking way).....Unbelievable that he remembered me from almost a year ago.
I'd be willing to stay here again. Sure, it's not in the prime area, but it's clean, adequate & staffed well.
