If you are heading to Chicago to take in some baseball, this is the perfect hotel. It's situated within walking distance to Wrigley (it's about a 15 to 20 minute walk but there is lots to see along the way) and a few blocks away from the train which takes you right to US Cellular. It is surrounded by a ton of shops, pubs, restaurants and even a grocery store. It's about a 4 mile trek to Navy Pier but it is worth the walk - hit up Lincoln Park Zoo and Michigan Ave on the way. The location could not have been any more convenient and perfect!
This is a boutique hotel with old world charm. Our room wasn't huge but big enough for 5 which included a roll-away. It was a tad bit cramped at times but clean and quiet and had all the amenities we were looking for. The breakfast is simple but it's really all you need to start your day and a nice bonus!
My only somewhat negative comment would be the friendliness of the staff --- and it doesn't reflect everyone. The housekeeping staff were lovely --- always giving you a smile and a good morning. The bellmen were also very courteous and attentive --- Vincent in particular is great! Some of the front desk staff could probably learn a thing or two about service from these folks. There were a few incidents that disappointed me, but it wouldn't prevent me from coming back - this is definitely going to be my hotel in Chicago.
Great locations to eat within blocks of this hotel: Duke of Perth for all you can eat fish and chips on Fridays. Amazing deep dish pizza at Renaldi's. And last but certainly not least --- talk about great food and over-the-top service, head to Pita Queen!
