“Extremely clean, with comfortable room and bed”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

We stayed 5 nights at the beginning of September, and were very happy with our choice of hotel.

We relied on other reviews of this hotel which we had read in Tripadvisor, and found all comments were accurate and were therefore very happy with our choice of hotel.

The hotel is a little far from the centre of Chicago, and it takes some 45 minutes to reach the centre of the city, by either using a bus (right around the corner from the hotel), or a train (some 10 minutes walk from the hotel). The price of the comfortable room we were given, was much more reasonable than any hotel of a similar class near the centre of Chicago - and we had researched this matter in great depth.

The reception staff were extremely helpful with their recommendations as to which tourist attractions to visit, and how to reach these attractions.

Breakfast was adequate, but the breakfast room was a little on the small side, meaning we sometimes needed to wait for stable - but not for an unreasonable amount of time.

The room was not soundproofed at all, and we heard sirens of ambulances and Fire Engines every night - although we did sleep very well on our comfortable bed.

We agree with the reviews of other members, and definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this wonderful city.

We are very happy we listened to other reviewers of this hotel, and very much enjoyed the excellent musical "Million Dollar Quartet" - whih was only a 20 minute walk from this hotel

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the main street the hotel is situated on

The hotel is clean, comfortable and the area is convenient. There is a Trader Joe's close and many restaurants close by. It is also close to the "L" so transportation is a breeze. The breakfast is "just okay". Warning - if you like a bath I think you are out of luck. My room only had a shower. I don't know if they have any rooms with a bathtub as I didn't ask. The staff was friendly.

This is a great place to stay for the cost: (1) it is in a great neighborhood; (2) the rooms are small, but clean; (3) the staff is very efficient and kind; and (4) the breakfast is simple, but it has all the basics. I have stayed here a couple of times and have always had a good experience.

I stayed here for a weekend and was very happy with the hotel's location, cleanliness and affordability. The standard room with a double bed was small, but comfy. I liked the pillows, too! I expected the room to be small, so there were no surprises. Wifi is free, and signal strength is just okay. The TV was old school: big square box with some channels that had unclear reception. I hope an upgrade is imminent. The property is large and feels labyrinthine -- our room was about as far away from the single elevator that serves the entire hotel as one can get. I parked at the hotel for $24 per day (Valet with in & out privileges). The valet staff are very nice and efficient, but be forewarned that it seems that only one guy is on staff at a time. So, you have to call for your car well in advance -- don't expect this to go too quickly as cars are parked about a block away, and the guy has to run out to get them. This also means that when you pull up, he may be out getting another car. So, you have to put on your blinkers and wait until he returns (you can't just pull up and leave your keys with anyone at the front desk -- they aren't supposed to do that as the valet company is subcontracted). Overall, though, the place is great. It's a great home base from which to explore Chicago.

Three of us stayed at The Days Inn Chicago,9/9/12 - 12/9/12 Our cost was $112.00 per night plus tax or,$37.33 each per night !!!!!! where on earth can you stay in Chicago for that ,this also included a Continental breakfast ?? exceptional value for money. The hotel is only a couple of blocks from the bus stop,#151 every few minutes, takes you right to the Magnificent Mile. The hotel is only a $16.00 taxi ride from Union Station.
The staff were friendly, helpful, and polite. The hotel was Immaculate linens and bathrooms were clean, and all public areas were constantly being polished.

For what we paid we had well over great value for money,we would highly recommend this Hotel with it's highly motivated employees

Our biggest surprise was how much fun it felt to be in that neighbourhood. The hotel is on 3 different bus routes to downtown and only 1.5 blocks to the L and only a few blocks from Lakeshore to get onto the main roads. Very convenient on all fronts even though slightly further north than we might first have wanted to stay.

The hotel is spotless, lovely lovely clean rooms, great duvet and super comfortable beds. Service was excellent. Parking at $24 seems expensive until you realise that is what it would cost if you parked on the street and fed the meters... the hotel isn't making parking a profit centre!

Breakfast was very nice and served in a breakfast room. The drinks are all in one corner and that makes it a little chaotic. Most clientele seem to be younger and full of energy. We were there for the Springsteen concert and met many clients a little older and full of energy!! It is walking distance to Wrigley Field and Lincoln Park and the zoo.

We stayed 3 nights and it felt like home - we call that a home-run because so few budget hotels can make that feeling happen. More boutique than budget.. lucky us!

Only downside was the room a/c unit. It was loud and pointed at the bed... it needed a thermostat on the wall so that it didn't need to be on all night. We lined up the chair and spare pillows between the unit and the bed and that helped keep me (it was my side of the bed) out of the cold air stream.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the back, there's no view but they are quieter too. Also try to avoid the b...

We stayed 3 nights in early May and found hotel to be very clean with attentive staff and best of all the location was great. Within walking distance to Lincoln Park, eateries and Wrigley Field and short bus or train ride to downtown.
The only drawback was the size of the room. Hardly any room to move around.
