This 'British'-style, cooperate pub was convenient to my hotel (and by convenient, I mean downstairs). Went down for some British beers for a little drinking our first afternoon in Chicago (had a hotel voucher for a free beer), place was decently busy, no place to sit at the bar, and service was slow. Slow to the point where, while we wanted a couple drinks before dinner, we ended up having one and leaving. They did however, have a decent selection of beer, including some from across the pond. Place had nice ambiance and good music, so there is that. Bar had lots of patrons from the adjacent hotels, so it lacked a 'local pub' atmosphere, instead replacing it with a business lunch and touristy crowd.
Because of proximity to our hotel, we gave them another shot for a late lunch a couple days later. Much more pleased this time. Soup was excellent, and fish and chips (they had cod and haddock) was a good as could be hoped from a English pub. Service was also much better.
Because of how much we enjoyed that second visit, if it's not busy, I'd heartily recommend you stop by for a Fuller's or some fish & chips if you're in the mood for that sort of thing.
