I definitely recommend this b&b. I've stayed there for 4 nights with my boyfriend and his parents. Our rooms where lovely and very spacious. Breakfast is nice and the owners are very friendly and helpful.
The location is great, two steps from the subway and close to Chicago's main attractions.
I have had a very nice experience there.

We had a great three day stay for a graduation. The location is near the UIC campus and everyone at breakfast was there for the same reason. The breakfast was outstanding. They took the care to provide my wife with gluten free options. Having a parking place means a lot in Chicago. The location allowed us to walk to several good restaurants for dinner. The second floor room was up a good number of steps but was very quiet. The private bath was just across the hall and worked out better then expected. Finally, we love the metal sculptures inside and outside, done by the owners. These folks are multi-talented!

There were so many little touches like magazines, bath salts, make up removal cloths, pepper mints, umbrellas. I was in a three unit building, I believe, and there was a kitchen, living room, wireless printer, fax machine, books, fireplace and many homey touches.

Fabulous location in Wicker Park; a host and hostess who really know the area and take the time to give you advice; exceptional breakfast at a time that fits your schedule. (And I am vegan, so I have learned to expect to be tolerated with my culinary requests. This was way, way better than just tolerated!)

Lots of nice common area (needed, since bedroom I stayed in was small), and a very short walk to public transit. Can't wait to go back!

My room was at the top of the house and was nicely, if a little fussily, decorated. Kapra was friendly and encouraged her guests to chat at the breakfast table, but I agree with some other reviewers that a few of the guest 'instructions' do come across as a bit overbearing. I guess some guests are difficult and inconsiderate but there seems to be an attitude (no doubt unintended) that we all need to be taught basic decent behaviour. Putting all that aside tho', the place was clean, the breakfast was good and there's a guest kitchen so you can cook or bring back a takeaway and eat it at the kitchen table.
The location is extremely convenient, both for the Metro and for buses (Kapra gave me very useful advice for getting about), and it's only about 20 minutes to The Loop, but the immediate area is a bit run-down, so I was initially a bit nervous. Having said that, at no time did I ever feel threatened walking around on my own. It's also just a 15-minute walk to the more lively, slightly more middle-class-feeling neighbourhood around the Damen metro stop where there's a good selection of places to eat.

On a recent visit to Chicago I stayed in the single room, the Walnut, in the house across the street. Located at the top of a narrow stairway, the room with private bath was lovely, quiet, and comfortable. There was an adjoining full kitchen, dining room and a small sitting area PLUS an outside sitting porch available - to be shared with the guests in two other rooms All are comfortably decorated with beautiful older furniture and are spotless. There are books to read and pamphlets about the Chicago area to read. Breakfasts at the main house across the street were amazing, freshly made and delicious. The two owners are always available for questions and give excellent advice about the area. The B&B is located off a main street where one can walk to a great variety of restaurants for dinner; it is just a couple of blocks from the blue line train; it is also very near a bus line directly to downtown. Parking is more difficult since the area is filled with residents who park but the two delightful owners give parking passes for the nearby streets. It is a great place to stay!

We loved staying at the House of Two Urns. We had a small but very well equipped, quiet and comfortable room, with private bath, over the road from the main house. There was a lounge and kitchenette where we could make and drink tea after walking for hours around the city. The breakfasts were divine, the neighbourhood offered us loads of choice for great restaurants and bars in the evening and Kapra and Miguel could not have been more helpful.
