“It is simply the place to stay”

I went to Chicago for a bussines trip and found this beatiful B&B place, it is located just a bock away from the Bus stop which makes it very comforable if you don´t have a car. I stayed at the blue room and it overpass all my expectations, beatiful place to stay. If you go to Chicago this is simply the place to stay.

“Wonderful Experience”

We stayed at the House of Two Urns on October 4 and had a WONDERFUL time. The rooms were lovely, filled with interesting features including original art and comfortable furniture. The hot tub was a welcome retreat after a long day of sightseeing in the trendy area of Bucktown/Wicker park. We had thoughtful guidance from the hostess on the best sights to see, both traditional and slightly off-beat. I highly recommend this place as a lovely, eclectic urban accommodation. Enjoy! We certainly did!

“We Seemed To Be An Annoyance”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2003

Maybe years ago this was an interesting and inviting place to stay, but now it certainly is not. Because of the wonderful weather and events we experienced while in Chicago, it made up for this lousy Bed & Breakfast. The only time we saw our hostess was at check-in time, and that was just long enough to run our credit card. For breakfast, don't expect more than cold muffins set out on the counter, and you only have an hour and a half in the morning that it is "put out." We couldn't even find anyone to give the keys to when we left. The building itself was also a big problem. A dangerous back stairway, a door that doesn't open properly (very painful on the knuckles) and then the general disrepair could get depressing if you had to live there. I could go on about "The House of Two Urns" but I'm sure you get the idea. I have to say that I read a bad review of this place before we booked a room but did it anyway. Shame on me for not taking that review to heart!

“Unfriendly stay”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2003

Good rates do not make this B&B a worthwhile stay. The hosts were unfriendly and greeted us at the door with a credit card machine in hand. We waited in the lobby for a long time to be checked in while our car was being levied a hefty fine for non-resident parking. Although, the hosts knew that we were arriving by car, they did not offer information about their spaces in the back or their on-street parking passes until it was too late.

Restrictive hours on breakfast from 9-10:30am meant that there were too many guests for table settings. A couple went back to their room to wait, others went outside and the hostess asked a guest at the table to leave to accommodate the others.

I have been to many B&Bs in different parts of the world. This was by far my worst experience!
