We just returned from a wonderful stay at Flemish House, enjoying the Garden Suite. Although the primary reason for our visit was a business meeting, we would return to Chicago just for the chance to stay there again. The owner's hospitality is unmatched, the setting is spectacular, and the amenities (including thoughtfully stocked kitchens, great beds, antique furnishings, and free wireless access, etc) are terrific. The neighborhood is steps away from wonderful shopping, walks on Oak Street beach, terrific restaurants, and a quiet, elegant setting. Special thanks to Tom for accommodating us in particular. This was one of many visits we've made to Chicago and by far our best in terms of accommodations, thanks to Mike and Tom. My only concern is that I have spent so much time since our return telling others about it that it will no longer be our special secret!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay at the Flemish House. Our one bedroom apartment was handsomely furnished and well supplied. We especially loved the freedom of fixing our breakfast in the kitchenette at our own morning pace from the daily restocked refrigerator. The location is ideal ---- close to public transportation which we found very convenient with our 7 day CTA passes and also easy for walking or hailing a cab. The neighborhood offers beautiful architecture, lovely trees and small gardens and interesting restaurants and amenities like Oak Street Park. We could not have been happier with our choice.

The Flemish House is beautiful and inviting. It is located in a nice neighborhood within steps from Michigan Ave and a short stroll to Rush/State Street. The scene is active and a great place to people watch. We recommend this place to anyone visiting Chicago. It is truly a gem. Mike and Tom were wonderful hosts and gave us great advice on getting around in Chicago.

This comfortable and stylish B&B was recommended by friends in England, and it lived up to their description. We decided to have two separate stays on our way to and from California, and it felt like coming home on our second visit. We felt completely relaxed and self-contained in our apartment, with fridge stocked up for breakfast and rooms cleaned daily. Mike and Tom were extremely friendly and hospitable, at hand for information if needed or not.
The interiors were decorated in an English Victorian arts and crafts style, which made us feel at home.
If you are a cat lover, and obviously missing your own whilst away, an added bonus are the two friendly tabby cats. However, if cats are not for you, they will just as easily stay in their own apartment upstairs!
