I was attending The Chicago Mosaic School and Joy's Joy is a perfect location in North Central Chicago. It's a 10 minute walk through a beautiful historic neighborhood; safe and tranquil. Joy's home is full of antiques and original woodwork. The bathroom is large and modernized as was the kitchen and everything felt clean and comfortable. There is a lovely sunrooom on the back to enjoy morning breakfast and read the paper in silence which I really enjoyed. I liked the informality of helping myself to the variety of cold breakfast cereals and pastries. The bed room was very comfortable too. The bed was perfectly firm and I liked the robe to go to and from the bathroom. Joy is also open to feedback and helpful. I highly recommend her B&B and would definitely stay there again.

The neighborhood is very nice, quiet, and close to local attractions. The house is very nice. Joy was gone most of the time. Beds are extremely hard. Breakfast is continental style. You may get the feel that you are staying with your aunt while visiting and maybe not a B&B. If you like a relaxed and quiet atmosphere, then this stay is for you.

We were pleasantly surprised with Joy's Joy. While it is on a quiet sidestreet, it is right between Andersonville and Uptown. We really enjoyed the Andersonville strip.

Joy has loaded her house with antiques, and she is more than happy to share the story behind any of the pieces. Breakfast was huge and we kept on turning down offers for more.

The only drawback is that the bathroom is shared with the other suite and being an old house noise can be a problem at night if people are coming home late or going to the bathroom.

You actually feel like you are staying at a friend's home rather than a B&B.
