Description: David Burke's Primehouse in The James Hotel features a modern steakhouse menu with hand-picked meats that are dry-aged for 28 to 75 days in a Himalayan salt-tiled aging room on premise. An intimate new destination for special gatherings, Burke's Dining Room is a noteworthy addition to David Burke's Primehouse. Conceived as a modern interpretation of the classic "chef's table" meant for private dining, it serves to complement Chef Burke's progressive, whimsical fare.#1 Steakhouse in Chicago - Chicago magazineBest Burger in the U.S. - Food & WineBest Steakhouses in the U.S. - USA TodayBest Steak Ever - Rahm Fama of Food Network Chicago Tribune"The complex, earthy flavors that dry aging brings out had me swooning. This is the kind of meat I want my server to set in front of me when I go out and pay top dollar for a restaurant steak. The extra layer of richness the brushed-on 'beef love' added really put this one over the top."

“The Seafood appetizer was Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2014

This was the final night of our cruise friends weekend together and we booked for dinner at the David Burke's, partly because we stayed at the James and knew we wouldn't have to walk back to the hotel. The appetizer was so large, I could have stopped there and been quite happy! The 40 day aged steak was very good, but was just a tiny bit more cooked than I prefer. We shared the sides, which were pretty pricey at $7 each but each one was delicious. The carrots were perfect. BUT the highlight was the infused Vodka I enjoyed after the meal. Very delicious. We were also lucky enough to get a tour of the aging room and how its done. This is a nice meal but it is expensive. At least it was quiet enough to talk to each other!

“Delicious breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2014

This was our first stop on our spring break vacation in Chicago. The restaurant is small but welcoming and a varied breakfast menu offered delicious treats. Family friendly with quick service and friendly staff.

“For Professional Steak Lovers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2014

I am sure only a true steak lover can appreciate how old there steak is and understanding that would not be bothered at the expense. Great atmosphere but I could not appreciate what they offered.

“No seasoning and very charred”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2014 via mobile

I was so excited to have dinner here given the reputation of the Chef. I ordered the bone in filet mignon - dry aged and medium rare. The steak was huge but very charred and over cooked. They don't season the meat and it has no beefy taste. Given the price >$50 for the steak, I was too embarrassed to ask for ketchup or any kind of steak sauce.
