“Great Location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

My husband and I stayed here recently and had a great experience. It was close to the museums we wanted to visit and close to public transportation and Millenium Park. We went to a concert at the Chicago Theatre and were able to walk there. It was convenient and we never felt unsafe. The rooms were very clean and updated. We would definitely stay here again!

I've stayed 2 days at the Amalfi and 3 at Hampton Majestic where I'm now writing the review. Let's start with the good part. Position is in the "Loop" but there are other good locations depending on what you do in the city. Breakfast is simple but compete with good quality food and fruits, but try to avoid peak hours since you won't find a place to seat. Very kind staff: I asked city information and the manager even came out of the desk to explain me better about the city. Then the worst things. The hotel is dated with hands of paints one over the other in the lobby. Lobby is on the second floor. Rooms are small and so the bathroom. The color of walls and courtains is "horrible" and so the dark furnitures wich make the room seems even smaller. Bed is confortable. Bathroom small and dark with sad neon lights. Heater and A/C worked very well and silent. I paid $ 175 x night which is a similar fare as the Amalfi. I would give a much better average at the Amalfi for the room, but the Hampton has a much better the breakfast and staff attention.

On behalf of the management and staff we’d like to thank you for your recent stay with us. We very much appreciate your business and thank you for selecting our hotel. At the same time we are disappointed to learn of your mixed feelings, as we always like to ensure that our guests feel cared for, valued and respected, which is our brand promise. Our guests’ satisfaction is our main priority and I assure you that we will definitely take your comments into consideration so that we may find ways to improve our hotel.

Most of our guests love the burnt sienna wallpaper & rich chocolate tones of the carpet. I am sorry that you found the color palette too dark to your liking.

The building that houses the Hampton Majestic, the Majestic Building, was built in 1905. The building that houses the Hampton Majestic, the Majestic Building, was built in 1905. Our lobby on the 4th floor of the hotel takes up an entire floor of the building. We understand the challenges the small footprint of the building has on the size of our breakfast area & recommend that guest wanting to avoid the crowds come down early for breakfast.

Thank you again for your review and we do hope that we may welcome you again in the future.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel over a weekend get-away trip and couldn't have had a better experience. The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean. We felt very safe there. Plus, the hotel is around some great shopping and restaurants and isn't too far from the museums and very close to Millenium Park. And it wasn't too expensive! I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is very well situated both for walking to locations such as the Art Institute and for taking public transit (1 block from red and blue lines). The rooms were clean, the bed comfortable and the staff very helpful.

This is one of the best hotels to stay in downtown Chicago, especially if you are planning a trip to one of the local theaters. It's close to all public transportation which makes it very easy and convenient to get around the downtown area. The rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. The free breakfast in the morning was also a good way to start the day.

This was our 2nd stay at the Hampton Majestic. It is excellent location for going to a play at the Bank of America Theater, since they are attached. Arrival and departure went very smooth. The valet gentlemen were VERY GOOD !! They made the street arrival a non issue. We did not use the breakfast this time. Our daughter was there the night before, and she said she used it, but the large crowd made it kind of unpleasant.

I stayed here with a friend for leisure last year and I was very pleased with the hotel. The main attraction was the location. You can walk to just about anything, and the train line is just down the street from the hotel so you can easily hit just about everything thats out of walking distance as well. There is a complimentary breakfast that is at all Hamptons, but we did not utilize this amenity as we slept in most mornings. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this property - or any Hilton property for that matter!
