“Wonderful snack and quick stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2014 via mobile

A great alternative to typical quick meals and desserts. Reasonable priced and very tasty. You can't go Wong with any of the choices. Remember to finish off with the coconut custard bao.

“Most delicious and inexpensive food you can get in the city!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2014

Conveniently located right inside the main doors to Water Tower Place is this gem! Had the teriyaki chicken bao and the whole wheat edamame bao. Both were delicious and flavorful. I can't believe the only charge $1.79 each. It's the cheapest food you can get that is yummy and quality. The outside just melts in your mouth. The seating area is upstairs. If you are near Water Tower Place, this is a must!

“Almost like you're in Taipei”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

Very surprising steamed food stand in a major downtown Michigan Ave mall at street level. Convenient for passers by and shoppers. Short list of options but the fillings are varied. Heavy ginger influence in drinks and other offerings.

Only had room for a steamed barbecue pork bun as dinner was in an hour. But the dough was soft and mildly sweet as it should be. The filling was only lukewarm but relatively bountiful. Less sweet than many other restaurants or frozen versions you can get in grocery stores. Steamed dumplings appeared well made with thin wrappers but I didn't sample them.

“It's okay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 11, 2014

We ordered a bowl of rice with spicy kung pao chicken and another bowl with vegetables and a bun with teriyaki chicken filling. Turns out that the dishes coming with the rice are actually bun fillings, but instead of getting stuffed into a bun it gets served with a bowl of rice. So it's all minced and mushed. The best was the teriyaki chicken. The kung pao chicken was too tasty and has an unidentified sharp smell that I didn't quite like. The vegetables were the opposite - really bland. So overall it's just okay, though I really like the concept. The store was clean, neat looking and they even have some tables 2 levels up for those who want to dine in.

“Great Little Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2014

I have been wanting to try Asian steamed buns for a while and have never had the chance. This little vendor type restaurant served up some quick and easy food. I tried the teriyaki chicken and thai curry buns. I really enjoyed the teriyaki! They also serve pot stickers (dumplings) which looked great. I wish there was such a fast and convienent food stand in my hometown, I would eat there often. There is no seating, so it is grab food and walk around. That is the only reason this is not rated higher.
