“Location, Location, Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2010

We found the location of this hotel perfect for our visit as tourists to Chicago. It was a short walk from a Blue Line Metro stop direct to/from O'Hare Airport. We walked to all of the tourist sites that we had time to visit during our three day stay ( Navy Pier, Millenium Park, the Loop, Art Institute, Sears Tower). The popular Chicago River architectural boat tour was directly across the street. Our room was large and had a separate bedroom. It included a washer/dryer which was most useful when we managed to get caught in a midwest summer downpour. The complementary breakfast buffet was plentiful and tasty. At well under 200 dollars a night, it was a very good value and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

The hotel is centrally located which provides easy assess to all the main sites of downtown Chicago. We chose to walk to many locations to enjoy the sites.
We did many activities, including Segway, boat tour and lots of shopping both on Michigan Ave and State Ave. We highly recommend this hotel, clean and comfortable and very roomy. We drove to Chicago, once we arrived, did not need the car until we departed. Great location, centrally located to all parts of the downtown. The staff were very knowledgeable and provided us recommendations for places to dine, shop and tour.
The breakfast was perfect for our family, great way to start the day.
Would definitely come back again…Chicago is a fun City, looking forward to coming back very soon!!!

Nothing worse than having a long day and coming back to your room and trying to take a shower with very low water pressure. Not even enough to wash the shampoo out of your hair. I complained to the front desk, but I am guessing this is inherent to this hotel and not going to be fixed. I wouldn't stay here again for this reason alone. Everything else was okay.

Good News: These are some great rooms, more like small efficiency apartments, Kitchen has stove, oven, fridge, microwave, and all the utensils to cook a small meal. The living room has couch, chairs and coffe table. Walls of windows on to sides to a great view of the city. Staff is very friendly and curteous.
Bad News: Even on the 21st floor, street sounds are loud - especially police and ambulance sirens. For such a large room, the bathroom is very cramped. The toilet uses a small round bowls rather than an oblong bowl like most hotels. The shower has a ridiculously low flow rate, AND the hot water is only luke-warm by 8:00 AM. The morning breakfast is rubbery eggs or make-yourself waffles. There is only one ice machine on the lobby level for this 25 story hotel.

Based on traveling to Chicago on business for the last 10 years, this is the best deal in the Michigan Ave area. The rooms are spacious, clean, quiet, and the staff is very accomodating. Simply put, this is the best deal around. Everything is in walking distance if you perfer, and convenience to the train and cabs is also easy. The breakfast & fitness room make mornings a snap, and the convenience of nearby restaurants make dinner/lunch very easy. The true suite rooms (there is a door that closes & truly separates the bedroom from the living area) make traveling with others/children very easy. The kitchen is stocked with utensils and dinnerware. This has become our preferred location & doubtless will remain so.

I reserved a room with 2 queen beds for 4 people. At check-in we were told they had upgraded us to a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite. Definite bonus!! This is not a luxury hotel, but the room was nice and had everything we could possibly need (including a washer/dryer). The room was very clean. The staff was really nice and always smiling.
The breakfast was good, cheese omlets, bacon, waffles, fruit, cereal, coffee, juice.

The absolute best thing about this hotel is the location. We were 1/2 block from the River Walk and a few blocks from Millenium Park, Art Institute, the Russian Tea House, Lake Michigan. You don't need a car because everything you need is withing walking distance. The room overlooked Michigan Ave, which was a little noisy, but we had nice views of the beautiful buildings surrounding the hotel.
I can't wait to go back & will definitely stay here again!!

We stayed for 7 nights at the Comfort Suites in early June, 2010 and very much enjoyed it.
The room was a suite with a separate bedroom and a full kitchen. It even included a washer and a dryer! All you need for a few days in Chicago.
The breakfast was quite good, and with a full-sized fridge, you can add your own items to your breakfast if you wish.
The hotel is located just south of the Chicago River right on Michigan Street - a great central location.
There was no noise from other rooms.
I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for a good place to stay while in Chicago.
