“Location, just location”

We chose this hotel because it was the lowest-priced suite we could find in walking distance to all of downtown Chicago's sites. I guess we got what we paid for. The 2-bedroom suite was _very_ tight for our 6 people (including two small children). There was only one bathroom and it was dated. The kitchen was dated. I was a little grossed out to have our baby crawling around. It was clean, but the decor was very tired. The breakfast buffet was good, but I'm glad we went early—I was in the lobby later and heard other guests complaining it had run out of food. One of the beds in the suite was comfortable, the other sank in the middle.

So our stay was average. The price is great for the location, but know that it will not feel luxurious in any way.

Room Tip: Our two-bedroom suite had very tight spaces. I was glad we were on a lower floor because there are m...

We searched more than 25 properties before deciding to book here. Just 1/2 block from the river and on Michigan Ave - unbeatable! Great staff who made fabulous food recommendations. They were also extremely helpful with sightseeing suggestions. When we checked in we found they had upgraded us to one bedroom suites with lots of space, separate living room & kitchen and huge closets. Overall it is a great small hotel at an excellent price.

Room Tip: Corner suites are large and checking in with a smile helps.

My family and I spent four days in Chicago recently. I chose the Comfort Suites because we have four children and I wanted a big room with a kitchen so we could save money by cooking most of our own meals. The room had only two beds and yet I had booked the room for 6 people. The kitchen had enough dishes but pretty much nothing else that one needs when cooking. I would have rather had a smaller kitchen and another bed. Also, there was no table or chairs for us to even sit at to eat. There was a counter with two bar stools and that was all. The room smelled damp when we arrived and we quicklynlearned that the carpet was wet in two spots, right underneath the air conditioning unit. We tried to make due but as the we spots grew we finally asked for a room change with which they did accommodate us . Fortunately, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was great, right downtown with a bus stop just at the corner. Granted, we didn't spend too much time at the hotel but would have liked a nice comfortable place to retreat to after a lonfg day of sight seeing and the Comfort Suites was did not fit the bill.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are pretty much the same. It appears to have been an apartment building that was t...

My husband and I met friends in Chicago recently for a three night get-away. We stayed in a one bedroom suite on the 21st floor. The room was fantastic...large living room/kitchen with a separate bedroom and a beautiful view of the river. The room even had a washer/dryer, which was very helpful. The location is perfect...right on the Magnificent Mile, close to the Chicago River, Grant Park, Millennium Park, great restaurants and shopping. The hotel staff were very helpful, accommodating and friendly. In short, I would highly recommend this hotel!

My family and I stayed over 4th of July weekend, we stayed in the one bedroom suite, you do pay a little more but well worth it!! We had a separate bedroom with a huge closet, dining room/kitchen area with a balcony. less then 2 blocks from the Park and only one away from the river. The staff was super friendly, helpful and accommodating.

We spent three weeks travelling across the US and stopped in Chicago for 4 nights to attend some training. Our requirements were to be close to the training venue - it was across the road, and have somewhere to wash our clothes - there was a washing machine in the bedroom.
I was a bit nervous about booking a 3 star property, but the quality of 3 star properties in the US appear better than Australia.
My partner has a back injury and we always hope for a firm bed when we travel.
Unfortunately, this bed was too soft and although they couldn't relocate us to another room with a more firm bed, they did provide additional pillows, chairs, and blankets so we could create a makeshift bed on the floor of the bedroom.
We found the apartment nice and big with a separate bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and lounge. We had a fabulous view too.
We loved the location, it was obviously near to our training, but also millennium park, the mile, the river and some great places to eat.
The not so great ... The service. Check in was laborious even though I had booked and paid with the hotel direct months earlier and am a choice privilege member. On the occasions we had to call the front desk, the service was very slow. The breakfast room facilities were crowded, but adequate, although some direction on how to use the waffle machine would be good.
The worst part of our stay was checkout. It was the Saturday during lollapalooza, one of the lifts were broken, and I needed assistance with our bags. After 40 minutes of waiting, we had to just make our own way down & we nearly missed our Amtrak train. The shining light in this stressful hour was one of the front desk staff who did everything she could to get us out as quickly as possible once we found her in the lift. We were grateful to finally have some assistance & made it to the Amtrak station on time ... Just!
I would stay here again and so would my partner if they had firmer beds.

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor for a better view.

The staff were very welcoming and offered great suggestions for seeing the city. One of the ladies even took the time to map out several places to dine and wrote us out directions/suggestions.
We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms...perfect for our group of 6 gals!
