I enjoyed staying at the Comfort Suites on Michigan Ave. because it has a friendly atmosphere and one feels the staff are actually real people not just hired help - they care and go the mile.
The location is excellent and while the common parts are tired and certainly not grand the rooms more than adequately compensate the business travelller with space, good beds and views.

We arrived in the early evening and for some reason we were upgraded to a 25th floor suite (there are only 26 floors). From our bed, we felt like we were viewing Michigan Ave. from the middle of the road. Beautiful. The location is awesome, nice Italian restaurant around the corner, a short walk from the overwhelming Millinium Park. Architecture to make Chicago proud: Chicago Library, amphitheater with acoustic metal beams only in the park, Sears (formerly) building view from our patio. Here is something to remember: read the hotels directions they send with their confirmation about the (shared) valet parking being in front of the Hard Rock Hotel around the corner. Maybe tell your GPS girl (our's is Dixie) to drive to their address. Dixie had us below Michigan Ave. where the hotel parking is, and we drove around a bit trying to find the front of the hotel. If we'd read and followed that confirmation, it would've saved 20 minutes and frustration. The woman who greeted us at the desk, got us straightened out and had our room keys ready. The breakfast was very good, not just the basic fare. All the staff were smiling and seemingly glad we were there. Loved it. Will definitely go there on our next Chicago sojourn.

Our recent stay at the Comfort Suites in Chicago was far beyond our expectations. We were upgraded to the penthouse suite for our 10th anniversary; what a wonderful surprise that was! The view of Chicago was spectacular, the suite was beautiful. In fact, it was so beautiful we did not want to leave to go sightseeing! The king size bed was extremely comfortable. The suite consisted of 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, full kitchen, dining room and living room with a spiral stair case. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They assisted us with directions, cabs and always a smiling face upon our return. The location was perfect; we could walk to most places. We will most definitely go back!

I stayed at the Comfort Suites for 3 nights. It was a king bed suite, there is a good amount of space compared to a regular hotel room and there is also a kitchen, washing machine and dryer, pots and pans, utensils, plates, glasses, etc. The price was also good compared to other places in the area. The main drawback for me was that the Internet was very slow over the entire stay (relative to other places) which made it difficult to do work. There is a fitness center but there were also no weights. Due to these 2 factors I will probably not stay here again.
