Visited El Tipico today and had one of the best Mexican meals I have ever enjoyed! We started off with the freshly prepared guacamole, which had just the right amount of savory adobo spice, a hint of garlic mixed with the flavor of freshly picked avocados. I seriously couldn’t stop eating the guac; it was that good. Then we both ordered the chile rillenos for dinner. They use a traditional recipe with raisins and almonds blended into the ground beef; it is not often found up north-the slight tinge of sweet complimented the red sauce and cheese. The room itself was cute with red and orange walls emblazoned with posters of matadors and Spanish beauties. Even the restroom was cute-and well air conditioned, as it was 99 degrees in Chicago that day. I plan on returning to enjoy some of the other options on the menu!
