“Mixed on this one”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2012

The service here was top notch. Timely and just the right amount of attentiveness. The food though, was just OK and not worth the size of the bill. The items sounded really good on the menu, but the visual appeal and the taste were letdowns. The salads had a nice variety of items, but were cut in small pieces and piled high on a plate that barely fit the contents, so hard to eat without food spilling out onto the table. And the quality was OK, but nothing great about the taste. The entrees also were OK, but tasted the same as things we could prepare at home with little effort. Overwhelming garlic, too. Atmosphere also was fine, but nothing to return for.

“Convenient for the Neighborhood”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2012

Middle of a highrise neighborhood - so parking is limited to lots. The restaurant does stamp your ticket for you to reduce parking to $10.

Restaurant interior is basic nothing too special - but it can get very cold inside. The waitress said when the A/C comes on it blasts - when its off it warms up.

Shared a chopped salad that was ok - nothing special to make it tasty or left me wanting more or to be sure I ordered if/when I made a return visit. Menu says half and full orders - all 4 of us had full and did not feel that there was too much food. Chicken dishes were 2 breasts in a full - not large breasts so a full is definitely the way too go - though the price is a bit too much for just an additional piece of chicken. Pasta Jambalaya was definitely interesting and tasty. The canoli's were just the right size and smooth filling - so hit the spot.

Not sure I would make a return visit as nothing jumped out and said come back soon - inclouding the service.

“fun atmosphere, great food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2012

friend had lambchops, said they were great, wife had ravilloi, just okay, i had veal parm which i ejoyed, good wine selection. Mario makes a point of chatting with customers and ensures service and food are top notch. Seems like a local favorite

I find this restaurant to be a hidden gem. Great food and wine with pleasant service and an owner that is present.
