“Chicago-style goodness”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

We were passing through Chicago recently, and we just had to have some Chicago-style pizza. Adam Richman (of "Man v. Food" fame) once said that Malnati's is among the best, and we were not disappointed. We had the Malnati "Chicago Classic," which features sausage and extra cheese on what Malnati's calls its "Buttercrust." It was awesome. It's deep dish, so it takes a while to cook (though our waiter kept us updated as to how it was coming along), so this might not be the best option if you're pressed for time. But if you've got the time (or call ahead), I highly recommend Malnati's.

“Best pizza and Awesome Neighborhood”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

My wife and I love the Lincoln Park Neighborhood. If we lived in Chicago, this would be the place we'd call home. The pizza at this location was exceptional. We had never had true Chicago pizza before, but this being our first time was awesome! We had about a 30 minute wait and placed our order with host stand upon giving our name. The put the pizza in about 15 mins before they seat you, so the pizza arrives shortly after being seated. It was a very efficient system they were running. We ordered a small garlic bread along with a small 10" pizza, that was plenty of food for both us. Whatever they reccommend for serving size, stick to it as they're the expert. We loved this location and conveniently located. We rode the brown line up from downtown and back to our hotel. This was our favorite meal on our 3 day vacation to Chicago.

“Delivered on promise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Several locals said this chain is the one. Happened to be one right near our next stop - the Apollo Theater (Million Dollar Quartet). Off the Red Line, short walk, no wait for a seat. Promising sign on the wall saying what silly things then won't put on a pizza. Menu claims a 12" deep-dish will feed three. We raise eyebrows but decide to trust them. The Chicago Classic certainly does feed three unless pro football is involved. And it's really, really good.

There's no nutritional information offered, and we didn't ask. Just go for it, your cardiologist will understand. Especially if he's tasted this pizza.

Good choice of beers at fair prices. Very affordable pizza, especially when it feeds 3. Ambience adequate, maybe better than average for a pizza restaurant. Good service.

Afterward, there's the theater just steps away.

Glad we went. Recommended.

“Best deep dish I have ever had”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

My friend said the words "buttery crust" and I was sold. We did wait about 1 hour for our seat, but we pre-ordered the pizza and it came out about 20 min after we sat down. It was delicious- crispy crust and fresh garlic, mushrooms, onions and sausage crumbles. I'm sure if I hadn't eaten Portillos (if you have to do one, do Lou Malnati's pizza), I could have eaten a whole pie. The dessert was a chocolate chip cookie dish and ice cream on top. Also delicious. I prefer the pizza though- They even had little pizza bites at the front while you are waiting. I really liked the restaurant itself- very airy, roomy and not too noisy. The pizza was amazing.

“Deep Dish Chicago pizza and more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

Such a great authentic deep dish pizza. I noticed that they had a lot more on the menu including thin crust, but who would want anything but Lou Mal's deep dish sausage with butter crust???
