“A bit of Chicago Lincoln Park History”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

Going to the Lincoln Park Zoo? (Its free). Or taking a Nature Walk walk (its free). Or just exploring or visiting the Lincoln Park area in Chicago... don't miss Lettuce Entertain You's R.J. Grunts. My family has been going there for 40 years. Home of the original salad bar... very easy to make a complete meal out of the salad bar alone. Cute menu with a large variety of always good food all very reasonably prices. You can add the salad bar to your meal for a few bucks, or buy it separately. Always interesting beers on draught. There is a valet. Consider putting your name on the list, then taking a nice walk in the park and coming back when your name is supposed to be called. Many of the wait staff have been there for years... some of their photos are up on the walls. When the joint planned to close down about two years ago the local people went bezerk... to the point that they kept it open. A nice thing to do with children of all ages, good food, and not expensive with a great view of Lincoln Park out the windows.

“Good food at a reasonable price.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Good american food at a reasonable price. They do have a killer salad bar, though. We were able to get a last minute table on a Saturday night at 8:00pm, which is saying something.

“Big everything”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

Big burgers, sandwiches, beers and more in Lincoln Park. A good spot for a bite before or after a trip to the zoo, it's just a short walk away. This is a place the kids will love as well as the parent who needs a glass of wine and a time out.

“What an amazing Lunch experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

2 couples, 2 babys, 1 Sunday after Brunch and a couple of Burgers, Wraps and Salad later. Now thinking back, Chicago means RJ. Great food, great atmosphere, great value for money and super friendly staff with great surprise at the end. Thank you RJ, we will be back.

“Very Good!! Great Comfort Food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

We stop at Grunts all the time- it is so good. Great atmosphere- it's an older restaurant and the walls are filled with pictures of all the past girls that have worked there. We love the cheese fries and have never had a bad meal. Good for all occasions. It is across from Lincoln Park Zoo- so it's great to stop in after visiting the zoo!
