“Great find!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013 via mobile

We were on our way to the Cadillac Palace and picked the Rosebud because it was convenient. As it turned out this was a great find. The staff was excellent and the food was great. We will be going there again.

“Average Italian”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013 via mobile

We were headed to the Oriental Theatre and waited too late to make reservations at most restaurants. Our hotel concierge was able to get us in the Rosebudl The restaurant had nice atmosphere. Food was average. We've had better Italian in other cities and better food at Redbrush on Rush in Chicago. My husband had Chicken Marsala and it was average. My chicken pasta was decent. The bread was nothing special.

“Great location, wonderful meal.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013

The Rosebud Theater District is located on Madison in between Dearborn and Clark. The location is in the center of the Chicago Loop. That means that it is easy to walk to and get to from just about anywhere South of the Chicago River. We were 2 blocks from the theater we attended, and 3 others were visible from the entrance. it is 1 block West of State Street for shoppers.

Every bite of everything we ordered was delicious. We highly recommend getting the Sausage appetizer. The meat is seasoned well and it had a crisp casing that had snap to it. For us, the best part was the au jus it was served with. It was like a Vesuvio gravy. It was perfect for dunking our Italian bread into.

The Entrees are all oversized, but my entree, a daily special Zuppa di Mare made other entrees look like appetizer plates. Huge sea scallops, jumbo shrimp, large chunks of salmon, and well-seasoned mussels were served over a bed of linguine noodles. The texture and flavor was more like a bouillabaisse than a cioppino. The portion was enough for 3 full meals.

The coffee was very good for those that drink it, and the chocolate cake was 9 inches high. Our server was very attentive and he had many helpful suggestions about our meal pacing. We also had two floor captains working with our table, making sure that everything was wonderful. It was.

“Best Lasagne I ever had”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

The Lasagna was the best part . Would come back for it. The antipasto for 2 was disappointing , plenty of cold meats but way light on Olives and cheese. Great Margarita , they have a different name for it. Delicious nevertheless. Would come back for the Lasagne and the Drink

This was a gem in the theater district. The food and staff were wonderful. It was a wonderful dining experience with no disappointments except it is a little noisy.
