In my humble opinion, Tru is the best restaurant in Chicago. I've only had a better dining experience at Daniels in NYC.
Don't come here for a meal that stuffs you. Each course is not large. Just enough to give you the full, complex tastes. Leaving you room for the next course. And the extras that arrive between courses and after dessert.
We have had both the tasting menus and the three course prix fix menus. We normally get one of there less expensive wines and have never been disappointed.
As you would expect at a restaurant of this class, the waitstaff and wine steward are very knowledgeable and gladly share there knowledge. Tables are widely spaced and the restaurant is conversation friendly.

The worst dinning experience EVER!
We were expecting that the food will be difficult to find on plate but at least will be tasteful and joyful ....but NO! We spend there the longest and most boring two hours ever.
Great place for brake-up, funeral or suicide.

Before being seated at Tru, take some time to view and appreciate the wonderful art that is on display throughout the restaurant, including the reception area.

The menu at Tru is constantly changing . . . and that is a good thing. The food is always
top-notch and delicious.

True has the most professional and efficient wait staff of any restaurant in Chicago.

Tru was absolutely wonderful. The service was outstanding , the food was incredible and the wine list extensive. The restaurant itself is very mod with a pleasing color scheme throughout. I'm not sure how these other reviewers had anything bad to say about this restaurant. I have eaten in so many major cities at the finest places and Tru is one of the very best. Just amazing.
