In my humble opinion, Tru is the best restaurant in Chicago. I've only had a better dining experience at Daniels in NYC.
Don't come here for a meal that stuffs you. Each course is not large. Just enough to give you the full, complex tastes. Leaving you room for the next course. And the extras that arrive between courses and after dessert.
We have had both the tasting menus and the three course prix fix menus. We normally get one of there less expensive wines and have never been disappointed.
As you would expect at a restaurant of this class, the waitstaff and wine steward are very knowledgeable and gladly share there knowledge. Tables are widely spaced and the restaurant is conversation friendly.
